Listener Comment - simply impossible?
You stated that in conjunction with the full moon of
Passover a lunar eclipse happened during the
daytime. ...That is simply impossible.

- simply impossible?
In looking up my program notes I
found our statement that a lunar eclipse occurred on the afternoon
of Messiah's death was based on expert research on the subject. Here
is a summary of the picture we uncovered.
According to Kefa/Peter, a blood moon occurred among the signs confirming Messiah, in fulfillment of the prophecy of Joel:
"I will display wonders in the sky and on the earth, blood, fire and columns of smoke. The sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood.." Acts 2:19-20, Joel 2:30-31
Please note that the prophecy states that both a dark sun and a blood
moon would occur. These are "wonders." Nevertheless, we do have
scientific support for some of this.
Lunar Eclipse
Based on their reconstruction of the Jewish calendar in the first
century AD, Humphreys and Waddington of Oxford University concluded that
April 3, 33 AD was the date of the Crucifixion. Humphreys and Waddington
say that a lunar eclipse occurred during the afternoon of that day, as
follows:
According to Humphreys and Waddington, a lunar eclipse did occur on the afternoon of April 3, 33 AD, the date of the Crucifixion."This eclipse was visible from Jerusalem at moonrise. ..The start of the eclipse was invisible from Jerusalem, being below the horizon. The eclipse began at 3:40pm and reached a maximum at 5:15pm, with 60% of the moon eclipsed. This was also below the horizon from Jerusalem. The moon rose above the horizon, and was first visible from Jerusalem at about 6:20pm with about 20% of its disc in the umbra of the earth's shadow and the remainder in the penumbra. The eclipse finished some thirty minutes later at 6:50pm."
Interestingly, Isaac
Newton, John Pratt, Bradley Schaefer, and others, all separately
confirmed the April 3, 33 AD date for the Crucifixion,
on the basis of other astronomical evidence. "Because of this will not the land quake And everyone who dwells in it
mourn? Indeed, all of it will rise up like the Nile, And it will be
tossed about and subside like the Nile of Egypt. "It will come about in
that day," declares the Lord YHWH, "That I will make the sun go down at
noon and make the earth dark in broad daylight."" NASB Amos 8:8-9 "And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole
land until the ninth hour." NASB Mark 15:33
Dark Sun, Earthquakes that Day
Darkness during the day,
accompanied by earthquakes, was foretold by the Prophet, Amos.
This was fulfilled on the day of Messiah's death.
Besides darkness, earthquakes were also reported on that day.

27:45, 27:51-54)
One clarification is in order here. It was not the lunar eclipse of the
afternoon of April 3, 33 AD that caused the sky to go dark. The
visibility of the eclipse of that afternoon/evening was no doubt
maximized by the darkness that day, however.
What Caused the Darkness?
Solar eclipses only occur during the new moon phase of the moon, and
Nisan 14 always corresponds to a full moon. This means the darkness
could not have been caused by a natural solar eclipse. If not an
eclipse, then what made the sun dark that afternoon?
According to Amos, YHWH said;
"I will make the sun go down at noon and make the earth dark in broad daylight."
It would have been a "wonder" if YHWH literally fulfilled this prophecy
by making "the sun go down at noon" - i.e., speeding up the earth's
cycle that day only, causing the sun to go down at noon, just that day.
If that happened it may have sped up the lunar eclipse of that day as
well, giving it much greater visibility that afternoon than normal
calculations would now show.
Alternately, the sun could have been obscured by "vapors of smoke" from
some natural disaster or other, volcanic activity for example, which may
also have involved earthquakes.
Moving further away from the earth, perhaps YHWH caused some heavenly
body to pass between the earth and the sun, obscuring the sun for the
duration of the passing, darkening the sun.
Maybe it occurred supernaturally in a way that cannot be explained by
ordinary means, after all, it was a "wonder."
What we do know for sure is this; the sun "turned into darkness and the
moon into blood" on that unique and fateful day.

Listener Comment - Rapture on May 21, 2011?
Does Eliyahu have any thoughts about the multiple
predictions from various people that something big is going to happen on
May 21, 2011? This Saturday?

- NO Rapture on May 21, 2011!
The prediction you
mention is by Christian radio host, Harold Camping. He states that the
"rapture" will occur on May 21, 2011 at 6:00 PM, local time. According
to Camping the rapture will sweep the globe, time zone by time zone.
In a nut shell, Camping is wrong. There will be no "rapture" on May 21,
2011. I might add here that this is not Harold Camping's first rodeo. He
also predicted the world would end in September of 1994. That didn't
happen either.

You would have to be blind in both eyes and deaf as a stone not to see the signs of the end of the age all around us. Perhaps that is why so many have latched onto the prediction of Harold Camping that the secret Rapture is about to happen, on May 21st, he says. Some have quit their jobs, sold their homes and possessions and are staking all on this misguided prediction. This false prophecy will turn out to be just one more sign of the Last Days. "And many false prophets will rise up; and they will deceive many" said Messiah of the Last Days. Of course, the inevitable failure of this false prediction will cause many to lose their faith, since it will be a source of ridicule against all Bible believers, and many marginal believers don't do well in the face of ridicule. Such are the spiritual hazards of the Last Days. Matt 24:11
Perhaps a more significant sign of the times is to be found in the speech of 5/19/11 on the middle east by President Obama. Seeming so fair-minded in the eyes of the world, he has now moved America farther away from real support of Israel while offering more support to the Philistines, ..uh, Palestinians. The President has now announced to the world that Israel should give up the territory won miraculously in the 6 Day War of 1967, in which their Arab enemies attacked from every side. President Obama sees it as inevitable that Israel must just forget all that, and return to their "pre-1967 borders." (Perhaps, by that logic, the USA should give their country back to the Indians and return to England?) This marks a huge policy shift for the USA, essentially adopting the long-time position of the PLO. As we have stated on this program, the country of Israel is between the straights, a time when even her friends are betraying her, giving her up to the wolves. We can expect for the pressure on Israel to keep intensifying, until an outcome occurs very different than that planned by the NWO, their Muslim cronies and President Obama with Hillary at his side, leading the charge. All of this will lead to war meant to destroy Israel, but this "curse" will fall back upon the heads of Israel's enemies instead. This does not indicate good things for America by the way, since "those who curse you I will curse" comes into play here. Don't worry though. YHWH knows how to care for His own.
Which brings me to this week's program. Never has it been more important to know who you really are and what you are about. This is the bigger question in these days - far bigger than the so-called date of the rapture. This message couldn't be more timely for the Remnant of Israel and our supporters. I think you will find this message to be a guiding star, through the crazy conflicting messages of these last days.
