Our Midrash this week deals with the provisioning and consecration of the priesthood for Tabernacle service, along with a wide array of varied and interesting tidbits you might never think about apart from this discussion. The over-arching impression though, is that YHWH sees absolutely every detail in advance and provides for every detail before it even comes up. With a Father in Heaven of such amazing all-sufficiency why do we ever worry about tomorrow? Yet, we do, which is why He has given us wonderful reminders in His Word such as this:

“Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Matt 6:31-33

Is that not an encouraging truth? There's a lot more where that came from, in this week's Midrash. Listen and be blessed!

Listener Comment - Male and Female Offerings: I would like to make a comment on your discussion of Leviticus and the different sin offerings. I want to remind you there was the sin of Eve, deception. Then the sin of Adam, deliberate. So you might consider offerings were made for deliberate sin also sins done in deception. This may account for the difference in whether the offering is male or female. Hope this helps!!

Listener Prayer Request - [From Cole and Tammy] We’ll be flying Tuesday the 27th to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America at the Southwestern Regional Medical Center in Tulsa Ok. It looks like we’ll be there about a week. There’s the MRI and possibly other tests to determine the best course of action [for Tammy's cancer] and then we’ll decide which treatment is best. Possibly surgical removal of the cancer and then maybe laser surgery if there’s any other spots. We are trying to avoid chemotherapy if at all possible. Then we’re looking at doing the Gerson Diet for 2 years, eating mostly raw foods. Your prayers are greatly appreciated.

I would like to offer a little prayer here to give you support as you walk through this challenging time together. Father, we lift up Cole and Tammy before you as they consider options to deal with cancer. We ask that you direct the staff to act in the most helpful way possible to produce an accurate diagnosis, so that Cole and Tammy will know exactly what they are dealing with. We pray against fear so that Cole and Tammy may be free and able to hear your voice and direction regarding the important choices before them. We ask you to surround Tammy with an awareness of your great love for her to comfort her and strengthen her for the battle. Father, you are greater than any trouble or problem that can come into any of our lives - even cancer. I ask that you show yourself great in this situation, that you will totally obliterate this cancer and rescue Tammy from its effects by the power of of the blood of Y'shua Messiah. We pray also about others dealing with cancer at the center who do not know You, that somehow they may have a chance to know You as they are exposed to the faith of Cole and Tammy. Finally, we ask that the Spirit may intercede for Tammy regarding those things we would not know to pray, that she will have every help and every blessing she needs from your Throne, at the right time. Obama about-turns on Syria: US military training and weapons for moderate Syrian rebels

Obama at West Point Arab watchers around the Middle East are waiting agog for US President Barack Obama’s address at the US Military Academy at West Point Wednesday, May 28, as forecasts abound that he will unveil a major policy U-turn on the Syrian conflict. debkafile’s military sources report that the new policy is in fact in motion ahead of the presidential disclosure. It is a program to expand US involvement in the war against the Assad regime and al Qaeda elements by providing moderate rebels with military training and a regular supply of sophisticated weapons, instead of the widely-spaced dribs and drabs hitherto. It may even include anti-air systems which Washington has withheld so far.

The Arab world sees Obama as moving to counteract Russian, Iranian and Hizballah intervention in the Syrian conflict. It is seen in some quarters as also payback for Russia’s annexation of Crimea.

At all events, a Saudi source commented in Riyadh: “For the first time in years, president Obama is ready to take direct action against Iran’s strategic interests in the Middle East.”

The West Point speech will also be watched carefully in Moscow, where expanded US input in support of the rebels is seen as a direct assault on the Russian position in Syria. debkafile’s sources report that Moscow is preparing to beef up and upgrade its arms consignments to Syria so as to arm Assad for contending with the advanced American hardware incoming to the rebels.

Obama will unveil his plan for Syria the day after announcing his decision to leave 9,800 in Afghanistan - after the US combat mission is over at the end of 2014 - to train Afghan forces and support counter-terrorism operations. That decision is contingent on the next Afghan president signing a bilateral security agreement, which the incumbent Hamid Karzai refused to do. Washington appears confident that both of the candidates facing the June 14 run-off will agree to approve the accord.

The latest DEBKA Weekly 636 of May 23 disclosed President Obama’s revised approach to US military intervention in Syria, offering details of his plan. The US military training camps are already up and running, we reported. The rebel trainees arrive through Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Turkey, take the US courses and then cross into Syria.
The US army has furthermore laid out the secret routes for sending the new weapons supplies to the fighters in Syria.

By this policy reassessment, the Obama administration aims to achieve the following strategic objectives:

1. Creating a distance between the Israeli and Jordanian borders and the threats posed to those countries by the Syrian Army and its allies, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, the Lebanese Hizballah and Iraqi Shiite militias.

2. Keeping those hostile forces at bay additionally from US military facilities in Jordan and Israel.

3. Establishing a US military intelligence foothold on the Damascus periphery to challenge Russian and Iranian exclusivity as the only major powers with operational access to the Syrian capital.

4. US military intelligence agents on the spot would seek to establish ties with high-ranking Syrian general command officers and the field commanders of units deployed in and around Damascus.

5. Creating a barrier to stave off Al Qaeda encroachments on Damascus or the Syrian-Jordanian and Syrian-Israeli borders and so preventing the jihadis from gaining jumping-off positions for attacks inside those countries.
