 Great Judaic Schism

In our time Middle Eastern religious fervor is seen as a threat to the entire civilized world. Two thousand years ago Judea zealots were seen by Europeans in a similar light to how modern day ISIS is seen today. This had a profound effect on the world then, with surprising ramifications that remain with us to this day.

“Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of YHWH is risen on you.
For, behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples;
but YHWH will arise on you, and his glory shall be seen on you."
Isaiah 60:1, 2

  Tsiyon Partner Action Points:

Midrash Theme is: Be Noah!

We're discussing Genesis 6 where YHWH reveals to Noah the future and tells him how to get prepared. Does that sound familiar? You know the Scriptures tell us what the future is, they tell us the time that we live in and they tell us to be prepared.

Talmidim: Is Joseph Mr. Mary?

Most people have no idea who Joseph is except that he was married to Mary, the mother of “Jesus.” In this message you will learn that there is a lot more to Joseph than just the fact that he happened to be married to Mary.

From Eliyahu

Greetings in Messiah,

Wednesday morning, Syed Rizwan Farook, 28, joined dozens of his colleagues from San Bernardino County's public health department for a holiday gathering. Syed had worked there for five years. Syed's life appeared much like that of fellow-workers, with a wife, Tashfeen Malik, and baby at home. By all appearances Syed was one of the "moderate" Muslims we are so often told about, integrated into American society and pursuing the "American Dream." Certainly it would be considered "Islamophobic" or even "racist" to think that this moderate Muslim of Pakistani ethnicity was a risk to public safety.

Yet, after dropping off their baby with grandma reports tell us the couple went off to kill some of their neighbors in a well planned attack, which they video recorded with their GOPRO camera - apparently all in the name of Jihad. They managed to kill 14 victims before being killed themselves in a ferocious gun battle with police.

14 dead in California, which is a long way from the Middle East, where all of this seems to originate. This attack is only one religiously motivated attack out of many, occurring in far-flung and seemingly indiscriminate places. With the wave of Islamic refugees surging into Europe and America, we can be sure there are many more religious killers among them - meaning many more attacks will be filling the headlines.

As Islam spreads, religious violence spreads with it. In our last Tsiyon News we carried an article in which a European Rabbi says there is no place that Jews are safe in Europe anymore. In this Tsiyon News, below, we learn there is no place in Europe where Christians are safe anymore - even more so than the Jews, since Christians are the most persecuted group in the world. In the case of both Jews and Christians, the overwhelming majority of the persecution is clearly documented as coming from Islam.

While most Muslims are not killers, enough of them are that a backlash against Islam is inevitable. When that happens, what will that look like?

It will probably look a lot like what happened to the Jews in the first and early second centuries. Not all Jews had become radicalized in the struggle against Rome, but enough of them had, instigating murder and death throughout the Roman Empire, that public opinion everywhere turned decidedly sour against this formerly-favored group. This, in turn, brought crushing Roman reprisals against all Jews everywhere, especially in the Jewish homeland of Judea. The near-total decimation of the religious zealots back then is very likely a harbinger of what is coming upon radical Islam in the Middle East in our near future. Now as then, the effects must be earth-shaking.

Every Jew, every Christian, every Messianic, in fact, every person, continues to be profoundly effected by the momentous events of the first century - and most don't even realize it. You need to hear my presentation tonight on the theme: "The Great Judaic Schism" as part of our live Sabbath meeting.

If you are a Tsiyon Partner at any level of support this is available to you at Tsiyon Tabernacle at no charge. If you are a free member, sign up at any level of support, as low as $12 per month, and you can join us for these live presentations every week!

EuroParliament Prez: Christians ‘Not Safe In Our Continent’

Source: Breitbart, 12/03/2015

Christian Persecution

In a high-level meeting on religious persecution in Brussels, the President of the European Parliament (EP) said that Europe cannot afford to continue ignoring the fate of Christians, who are “clearly the most persecuted group” in the world.

In Wednesday’s meeting, EP President Martin Schulz said that the persecution of Christians is “undervalued” and does not receive enough attention, which has also meant that it “hasn’t been properly addressed.”

Schulz’s concerns were echoed by EP Vice President Antonio Tajani, who warned that Europe sometimes “falls into the temptation of thinking we can ignore this task,” referring to the protection of Christians throughout the world who suffer persecution.

Speakers cited the work of Open Doors, a human rights organization that monitors the persecution of Christians, noting that 150 million Christians worldwide suffer torture, rape and arbitrary imprisonment. Christians in Iraq, Somalia, Syria, Pakistan, North Korea and Nigeria are among those hardest hit.

The Open Doors report for 2015 found that “Islamic extremism is by far the most significant persecution engine” of Christians in the world today and that “40 of the 50 countries on the World Watch List are affected by this kind of persecution.”

For Islamists, Tajani said, Christians are the new “crusaders” of Europe, and because of Islamic persecution in the Middle East more than 70 percent of Christians have fled Iraq since 2003, with another 700 thousand Christians who have been forced to leave their home in Syria since the outbreak of civil war.

“Each month 200 churches and places of worship in the world are attacked and destroyed. Every day and in every region of the world, there are new cases of persecution against Christians,” said Tajani.

“No religious community is as subject to hatred, violence and systematic aggression as the Christians,” he said.

Tajani suggested that where radicalized religion is the problem, religion can also be the solution. “In the name of religion, we have an obligation to condemn all those who show contempt for life and kill in the name of God,” he said. “Whoever shoots in the name of God, shoot against God.”

Another speaker, auxiliary bishop Jean Kockerols of Brussels, said that the idea that Christians are intruders in certain Muslim-dominated countries must be debunked, since the Christian presence in the Middle East and the Indian sub-continent “dates back to centuries before the spread of the Koran.”

“The West must break the silence on the persecution of Christians in the world,” said Tajani, and Europe must promote “a model of society in opposition to religious radicalism and brutal and criminal projects, such as creating an Islamic caliphate in Iraq and Syria and then extending its tentacles into to Libya.”

“It should shake us up,” said Schulz, “that on our continent, Christians are not safe.”
