Radio Listener Feedback: Listener - What can you tell me about 'the Book of the Covenant' and 'the Book of the Law'? Tsiyon Answer - "The Covenant" and "the Law" are not exactly the same, though closely related. The Covenant refers to the Ten Words written on stone tablets by the finger of YHWH. These tablets were kept in the Ark of the Covenant - the 'box' of the Covenant. The words of the Covenant are included as part of the scroll of the Torah (Ex 19+20), translated in some Bibles as "the book of the Law." The scroll of the Torah includes the first five books of the Scriptures as transmitted through Moses. It covers a lot more material than the Tablets of the Covenant only. At the end of his life when Moses had completed the writing of the Torah he told the Levites what needed to be done with that original Torah scroll. Notice this: "It happened, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this Torah in a scroll, until they were finished, that Moses commanded the Levites, who bore the ark of the covenant of YHWH, saying, “Take this scroll of the Torah, and put it by the side of the ark of the covenant of YHWH your God, that it may be there for a witness against you."" Deut 31:24-26 From this we see that the Covenant and the Torah are two different things. The Covenant was kept INSIDE the Ark of the Covenant. The Scroll of the Torah was to be placed OUTSIDE the Ark, next to it, as a witness. Therefore, Torah is not the Covenant - it is a witness to the Covenant.
Now, what is the Book
(scroll) of the Covenant? Our Tsiyon Radio program #49 "A Kingdom Covenant" explains the relationship between the Covenant and the Torah in greater detail. I refer you there for more information. Listener - I've only known of you're ministry for about 2 months now and in that amount of time, since I've first heard you're message I've become a ministry partner; listened to 130 of you're programs; read you're book Holy Time and read you're book Holy Order Restored. I can't seem to get enough of the truth! I feel like I have so much to talk with you about. .. For the last couple months the word of God has been on my mind constantly, I can't seem to forget it, or even get it off my mind. When I wake up it's there. When I go to bed at night there it is. I'm having the most unbelievable dreams, I don't know what to do with all of this but I know this much, The Great Tribulation, as much as we think we know about it, it's going to be much, much worse than we could possibly imagine. | ||||||||||

Just like when you see a atom bomb go off on television, people say "Oh look at the cute little mushroom cloud" But........ If they were anywhere near the actual event in reality, they surely would soil themselves at the fear and terror of the situation and possibly go into shock. And it's coming. I don't know when, but in my lifetime I know this much. I'm 29 years old, it's like the movie terminator 2 Judgment Day, when Sarah Conner has knowledge that Judgment day is coming, and she's doing her best to warn the people around her, telling them" Everything you know, everything you take for granted, it's not going to last". The entire face of civilization will change very quickly and people will then show what truly drives them. ..It's strange, I don't get fellowship at any of the churches around me. It's like, they have no spirit in them. Like their candle has been blown out. Like they're empty buildings, full of hopeless people. I have a very difficult time finding other people who care about the bible, Gods will, or even want to know the basic truth about the world they're living in. It's like the overwhelming majority of people just want to stick their head in the dirt like an ostrich, and pretend everything is ok and everything is going along ok. If people choose to hate God, specifically the only true God Yahweh, shouldn't they at least learn about what they're hating? But they hate blindly, it's like people want to be willingly ignorant.
Listener-forwarded Message from David Wilkerson
- I am compelled by the
Holy Spirit to send out an urgent
message to all on our mailing list, and to friends and
to bishops we have met all over the world. Concluding thoughts from Eliyahu ben David: This edition of our newsletter is a bit longer than most we put out, due to the inclusion of the message from David Wilkerson. David Wilkerson is the founder and pastor of Times Square Church in NYC. While I have not closely followed his ministry, I have seen him and heard him speak in person and have been loosely aware of his ministry for years. He does not call himself Messianic. However, he does hold to some important Hebraic values, such as helping the poor and needy who have nothing to give back. He and the Times Square Church have practiced that kind of selfless giving to the homeless and hurting of NYC for years and have seen Yah reward that with much good fruit. Being aware of that track record, I take David Wilkerson's message seriously. I believe what he is seeing in this latest message tracks closely with the Revelation Series that we have been sharing with you since Passover season of 2008 - namely, that we have entered upon a time of judgment. Further, what he is suggesting, storing up a 30-day supply of essentials, is a reasonable precaution in these uncertain times. This is what we are doing in my family as well. Each time we shop we buy some extra things for our emergency supply. This may not work for everyone, but it is something I would encourage each family to consider.
Our Revelation Series has
been
focusing on the prophetic events slated to occur
before the Great Tribulation ever comes. While many
people are expecting the Great Tribulation soon I
encourage you to take a longer view. There are
successive waves of global shock that must yet happen
over a period of years before the Great Tribulation
dawns. Through those shocks, the faithful remnant of the
tribes of Israel must be gathered. We need to adopt an
endurance mentality rather than to wear ourselves out
too soon looking for an early exit from these troubles.
That early exit isn't coming - this is an endurance race
and not a sprint. As Messiah said regarding these very
times; "He who endures to the end, the same will be
saved." Enduring is more than surviving. Enduring means
continuing in faith and good works, doing our Father's
will. Here we learn from our Master's example, who said;
"I must work the works of him who sent me, while it is
day. The night is coming, when no one can work." This is
what endurance means - working hard at our Father's
business as long as such work continues to be possible.
These years of global travail before the Great
Tribulation finally breaks are times when we need to be
hard at work at our Father's business. This is also the
safest possible thing that we can be doing through these
uncertain days, since our Good Master will be looking
after the needs of those who are working in His fields.
(Matt
6:33, 24:13, John 9:4)
"But let us, since we belong to the day, be sober, putting on
the breastplate of faith and love, and, for a helmet, the hope
of salvation. For God didn’t appoint us to wrath, but to the
obtaining of salvation through our Lord Y'shua the Messiah, who
died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live
together with him. Therefore exhort one another, and build each
other up, even as you also do."
1Thess 5:5-11 Blessings to you and yours in Messiah's Name. Shalom,
Eliyahu ben David | ||||||||||
