Listener Comments: With respect to Isaiah 7:13-14, in the context of these two passages who is being addressed, the ‘House of David’ or ‘King Ahaz’?

Tsiyon Answer:  Thanks for your question. Here are the verses you mention:

He said, "Listen now, house of David. Is it not enough for you to try the patience of men, that you will try the patience of my God also? Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin will conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel." Isa 7:13-14

The prophet spoke to King Ahaz, the leader of the House of David at that time. The words of the prophet are not for Ahaz only, but are addressed to the House of David through the generations. It is sad that the family of David, throughout the period of the kings, mostly did not walk in the way of their father, David, but mostly walked in self-will and evil like the rest of the wayward nation - thus trying both God and man. This, with a relative few notable righteous exceptions. The sign for the House of David would be a davidic Son born of a virgin and called "with us is God" - i.e. the Son of God in human flesh. This is, of course, our Messiah Ye'shua. of God in human flesh. This is, of course, our Messiah Ye'shua. [More about these verses in program #187]

Listener Response: I could not AGREE more! The reason I asked this question is because non believing Jews interpret Isaiah 7:13 as corresponding to King Ahaz which by default mandates that this prophecy would have to have literally been fulfilled during the life of King Ahaz himself hence, excluding the Messiah which came much later from this prophecy. However, if the ‘House of David’ and Ahaz were the ones to be addressed then the prophecy would entail the forsaking of both of the kings of Israel and Judah (in the land of Israel) which would take place before the childhood maturity of the Messiah and much later than the life of king Ahaz. The context makes a huge difference in time respect.

False Prophet?

Listener Comments: Thank you for all of your great Newsletters and programs. I read and listen to all of them. With your last newsletter, I thought that I would seek your wisdom regarding a Dr. __ that I saw on youtube. He's a high intellectual and calls himself a prophet, Christian, messianic whistle blower on the evils that are going on behind the scenes during these end times. What he says is, of course, incredibly disturbing if true. While I think that some of it is, there are things that I question, and wonder if he's a "false prophet". What's he trying to do? I realize that you are very busy people with your family and radio show, etc. but I was wondering if you could "google" this guy and watch his Granada speech, then give me and anyone else who has listened to it, your take on it. I would be very appreciative and I would like to send you a donation for your time if you can pursue this.

Further Listener Comments: I emailed you a couple of days ago about a disturbing video that I had watched by Dr.__. Since that time, I have had a chance to "ponder" it, and I have come to the conclusion that he is a "False prophet". I had requested your opinion on him, and if you have the time or wish to comment, I would certainly respect your point of view. How I arrived at my conclusion was due to the fact that I have read the scriptures for myself, and knew that he was not in alignment with some of them. He hinted at the virgin birth being a misinterpretation. He stated that he can give people their "name" that's recorded in the book of revelation that Jeshua gives his followers written on a white stone (that no one knows), he claims that earth as well as mankind are billions of years old. Not 6,000 years old as interpreted ..Jahovah went to great lengths to give up man's geneology and the # of years that they lived, I've never added it up, but it is in line with 6,000. There were many other things as well. The reason for my confusion, is that his exposure of the NWO and all of the evil things going on, are, in my opinion, real not imaginary. So, my final question was: Why would Ha Satan want to expose his own exploits--my thought is that, he is already being exposed, and he wants believers to know his power and cunning and he wants us to become overwhelmed and paralysed with fear at what he is about to do. Thank Jahovah, that He has a plan, and thank Jeshua Ha Meshiach that He is with us and has conquered Satan and Jeshua will be faithful to fulfill the Fall Feasts just as He did the Spring Feasts 2,000 yrs ago. Thanks for letting me "vent" my thoughts on you!

Yes, I agree wholeheartedly with that, because that was what it was to me. I was initially 'freaking out' because I knew that some of it was true---so what about the possibility that much more of what he is saying might be true? Anyway,I appreciate all of your comments in the email, they are very supportive. I am not as learned as you are, but with every trial something good comes forth.
