Is the "666" Mark the Sign of Islam?
We've had a few listeners asking us
essentially the same question: Is the "666" as seen in the Greek text of
Revelation 13:18 the "Mark" of Islam? This question is based on
the assertion that the "666" in the Greek text is said to resemble the look
of the "mark" of Islam.
Tsiyon Answer
- Is the "666" Mark the Sign of Islam?
This idea that the "Mark" is the sign of the Islamic god has been
circulating for a while now, and at first it really gets your
attention. However, it is not surprising that an x-Muslim came up
with this idea. Muslims are conditioned to see the symbol of Islam
in everything, as this
link clearly demonstrates.
Further, to make the idea fit, Revelation 13:18 has to be completely
changes so that it is not referring to a "number" that must be
"counted."
Yet, the Aramaic version (from which it appears the Greek was
translated) also gives the "number" and tells us we must "calculate"
it.
See these two translations from the Aramaic:
Here is wisdom. Let him who hath mind, calculate
the number of the beast of prey; for the number is of man; and his
number is Six hundred and sixty and six. [Revelation
13:18, Dr. John W. Etheridge's
English Peshitta translation]
Here is wisdom: let him that hath intelligence,
compute the number of the beast of prey; for it is the number of a
man: and its number is six hundred and sixty and six. [Revelation
13:18, Dr. James
Murdock's English Peshitta translation]
The Aramaic letters, of course, do not look the same as the Greek
letters, rendering this entire concept unworkable if applied to the
Aramaic original. [Information at this
site
proves that the Aramaic came before the Greek.]
The concept that Islam is the Beast of Revelation is becoming very
popular right now. However, I don't subscribe to that belief. What I
see in Scripture prophecy is the Islamic enemy nations of Israel
soundly defeated BEFORE the Tribulation period begins, making the
way for the real Beast power to rise thereafter. See my programs on
the 4th and 6th Seals for more on that.

Matrix Programs - Is Neo anti-christ?
I like what I am
hearing, wasn't sure at first but your reading of the scriptures is
GOOD!!! As iron sharpens iron, I have some thoughts for you. I like
your matrix movie points, it had a strong effect on me. On the
surface, all the points you are drawing are good ... [Except] in my
opinion, Neo is an antichrist figure.

Matrix Programs - Is Neo anti-christ?
I enjoyed your comments about the Matrix. In our Matrix
programs so far we have been using the Matrix as an analogy for the
seeker and what happens in the process of going from being a seeker
to actually becoming unplugged. It didn't suit that theme to go into
the darker side of the Matrix - the darker side that you have so
accurately discerned. It has been my hope to come back to the topic
at some future date and explore the Matrix from that other side of
things, which is only hinted at in the 1st movie but which becomes
clear through the 2nd and 3rd movie. Your excellent comments confirm
to me that we DO still need to get back to the Matrix to reveal that
darker perspective. Brother, thank you for your interest in Tsiyon
and taking time to offer your valuable input.
From Eliyahu
We have taken a little break from our Signs in
the Sky programs to bring you a program appropriate to the
Shavuot season. I hope you will enjoy it, since it answers
questions people often ask this time of year. We will be
returning immediately to our Signs in the Sky series with
more new programming on the topic. My biggest problem in
bringing you this series is sorting through the mountain of
information I have been uncovering on the subject! Coming up
next: More on the Apollo moon program next week.
Blessings and Shalom,
