LAS VEGAS MEETING UPDATE:

John and Sue were blessed to be able to meet with 9 ministry partners (and 2 of their precious children) in the Las Vegas area last week. Eliyahu and Dawn joined the attendees via telephone, to the delight of all.  Questions were answered, contact information was exchanged, and the partners have decided to begin meeting regularly for study and prayer! Other partners in the area were not able to attend the first meeting, but have expressed interest in joining subsequent meetings. What a joy to be able to fellowship with these faithful members of the Remnant! Please hold them up in prayer as they begin building their local community. Let us know if you would like to make contact with other believers in your area. If at all possible, we will put you in contact with them. So many of us hunger for fellowship and worship, so let's start building community wherever we can!

Gilgamesh tomb believed found - BBC News

Archaeologists in Iraq believe they may have found the lost tomb of King Gilgamesh - the subject of the oldest "book" in history.

The Epic Of Gilgamesh - written by a Middle Eastern scholar 2,500 years before the birth of Christ - commemorated the life of the ruler of the city of Uruk, from which Iraq gets its name.

Now, a German-led expedition has discovered what is thought to be the entire city of Uruk - including, where the Euphrates once flowed, the last resting place of its famous King.

"I don't want to say definitely it was the grave of King Gilgamesh, but it looks very similar to that described in the epic," Jorg Fassbinder, of the Bavarian department of Historical Monuments in Munich, told the BBC World Service's Science in Action programme.

Magnetic

In the book - actually a set of inscribed clay tablets - Gilgamesh was described as having been buried under the Euphrates, in a tomb apparently constructed when the waters of the ancient river parted following his death.

"We found just outside the city an area in the middle of the former Euphrates river the remains of such a building which could be interpreted as a burial," Mr Fassbinder said.

He said the amazing discovery of the ancient city under the Iraqi desert had been made possible by modern technology.

"By differences in magnetisation in the soil, you can look into the ground," Mr Fassbinder added.

"The difference between mudbricks and sediments in the Euphrates river gives a very detailed structure."

This creates a magnetogram, which is then digitally mapped, effectively giving a town plan of Uruk.

'Venice in the desert'

"The most surprising thing was that we found structures already described by Gilgamesh," Mr Fassbinder stated.

"We covered more than 100 hectares. We have found garden structures and field structures as described in the epic, and we found Babylonian houses."

But he said the most astonishing find was an incredibly sophisticated system of canals.

"Very clearly, we can see in the canals some structures showing that flooding destroyed some houses, which means it was a highly developed system. "[It was] like Venice in the desert."

Tsiyon Commentary on: "Gilgamesh tomb believed found"

The BBC News article above relates directly to our current series of radio programs. Recently we have revealed that Gilgamesh, king of Uruk, and the most popular pagan hero of the ancient near east, is the same as the Biblical Nimrod of Genesis 10. His capital city, Uruk is the same as the Biblical Erek, with the vowel sound slightly changed in Hebrew. Another alternate spelling is Enuk which is pronounced essentially the same as Enoch, name of the first city founded by Cain before the Flood. Indications are that Uruk/Unuk/Enoch is in fact that same location/city, founded by Cain, reestablished by Nimrod after the Flood. In reestablishing this primary antediluvian pagan cult site, Nimrod was reestablishing the mystery religion of Cain, which, from there, spread throughout the world. Of course, that streading was not Nimrod's original plan. The plan was to use the mystery religion to keep every one together, as one world, under Nimrod's power. Nimrod was an anti-christ, in the same mold as Cain. Fortunately, YHWH frustrated the languages of the people at the Tower of Babel to break up that ancient anti-christ conspiracy. That divine act slowed down the one-world conspiracy until now, when the push toward one-world is once again moving in high gear.

..And now they have found the ancient tomb of this so-called "mythical" figure. One can only wonder how long it will be before a real life clone of Nimrod, frankensteined into existence by modern biotechnology, will be walking around on planet Earth. Sounds weird, I know. But from what I've been reading, nothing is too weird for these people! ..Stay tuned!
