News Web server problems today - Our web server has been experiencing intermittent errors today, 10/14/11. Technicians have been working on the problem, and it seems to be better at the moment. However, if you have trouble accessing our site today, please keep trying. Thank you for your patience. Happy Sukkot! Sukkot/Tabernacles begins at sundown of October 13, the 15th day of the 7th Biblical month. This is the "Time of our joy!" Not only does this 8 day feast bring to remembrance the time when our forefathers dwelt in booths in the wilderness - it more especially is the time when Messiah was born to tabernacle with us! We wish you a happy Sukkot. Listener Q + A

Thanks for writing. I'm glad to

Listener Comment - Impossible
to be saved again? Tsiyon Answer - Impossible to be saved again?
Here are the verses:
For concerning those who were once enlightened and tasted of
the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the age
to come, and then fell away, it is impossible to renew them again to
repentance; seeing they crucify the Son of God for themselves again,
and put him to open shame. Heb 6:4-6 This is not talking about "backsliding" from which one can repent
and recover. This is speaking about a person who has tasted of every
spiritual blessing in Messiah, and yet, willingly chooses to go to
the other side. There is no turning back from that choice. Such a
one is lost forever in the same manner as hasatan himself.
Listener Comment - "prophetic
year" of 360 days? Tsiyon Answer - "prophetic year" of 360 days? Sir Robert Anderson, Grant Jeffrey, and others who use an imaginary "prophetic year" of 360 days, which they then adjust to a modern solar year of 365 days, are adding an element that is not in the text under discussion [Ezekiel 4]. This is based on extrapolating from a couple of places in Scripture (Dan + Rev) where a 360 day period is in view - and then making a general rule out of it. The text in Ezekiel is speaking about the passage of ACTUAL YEARS - not a math formula. If they understood the Biblical calendar they would realize that Biblical years are intercalated as needed to keep the months in step with the solar year, so that, through a cycle of every 19 years, the cycle comes back into perfect alignment with the solar year on a perfect 1 to 1 reckoning. Therefore, their math to "correct" for the solar year, in effect, seeks to correct for something that is already corrected. Their math formula is not justified by the text or by the way that the Biblical calendar actually works. In a nutshell, their approach is typical Greco-roman thinking, that is well-meaning human reasoning that, unfortunately, simply misses the Hebraic reality of Scripture. From Eliyahu Sukkot is a very special time of year. As our program for this Sukkot demonstrates, this is the season when Messiah was born into the world, to tabernacle here among us. As we contemplate that great miracle and all it means for us we cannot help but be filled with joy. Our prayer for you this Sukkot season is that you will experience that amazing Sukkot joy reserved for those who have entered into the superlative love of YHWH, in all of its breadth, height and depth, through the greatest gift ever given to man, God's own Son. Be blessed in His love!
Shalom, |
