Listener Comments - Which Calendar?
I hope that this is a simple question / simple answer sort of a thing. I have read Holy Time a month or two ago. The question just came up this week as to which calendar was in use at the time of Yeshua's time on earth. I understand that He seemed to use the biblical calendar for feast days, but it seems that he honored the Sabbath on the same day as everyone else. So, I'm a little confused. Was the pharisaical calendar in use at that time? Which calendar did Yeshua use? Thank you.

Thanks for your question. My book, Holy Time, has a chapter with quotes from the first century showing that the Biblical feast days, including Sabbaths, were fixed according to the sighting of the New Moon each month. This was the same calendar throughout the entire history of Israel as a nation, through to the close of the Scriptures. Therefore, we can say with certainty that the calendar of Moses was also the calendar of Y'shua. It was not until the fourth century that a calculated calendar was adopted by the Jews, based on astronomical calculations used in Babylon. This innovation was due to pressure from the Romans, and resulted in significant changes from the Biblical Calendar. [We display the current Biblical Calendar each month here.]

In revelation 12:15 says the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman..... what does the water signifies in this verse.

Thanks for your question. Here is the verse:

The serpent spewed water out of his mouth after the woman like a river, that he might cause her to be carried away by the stream. Rev 12:15

Could this be an actual flood? Could be, or it could be symbolic language.

"Water out of his mouth" suggests a vast stream of words, very likely a deceptive flood of accusations and propaganda energizing an evil plot against the "woman."
