Listener Q + A
Listener Comment -
so anxious
It would be so nice to be with you that
we could talk and you could answer so many things we are so anxious
about. I know we're told to be anxious for nothing, however, the
flesh still seems to dominate too much. Does this still happen to
you?
Tsiyon Answer -
so anxious
Thanks for writing. I sincerely hope that we get to visit face to
face sometime, perhaps in the Second Exodus if not before.
It is interesting that you mention anxiety. It seems that anxiety is
everywhere. It dominates the atmosphere, pretty much wherever you go
these days. It seems to be so ever-present that it would be
impossible not to notice it, and even to be drawn into it from time
to time. Personally, I believe this atmosphere of anxiety is being
deliberately generated, through the manipulation of world events,
with the anxiety bar being incrementally raised higher and higher
until the world eventually reaches a level of chaos in which people
will be willing to grasp on to any "solution", even if that
"solution" is the one world government foretold in Scripture.
So how do we deal with this increasing anxiety level?
Here are a couple of Scripture verses that can help:
"When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You." Psalm 56:3
Even David experienced fear/anxiety. When he did he knew where to
turn. He brought his fears before YHWH and put his trust in Him.
Faith is the antidote for fear. When we need a little more faith all
we need to do is to ask for it.
Then we have this verse you may be referring to:
In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition
with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the
peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your
hearts and your thoughts in Messiah Yeshua. Php 4:6-7
This verse is very much like the Psalm we just considered. While it
tells us not to "be anxious" - I believe it is saying we should not
allow ourselves to continue in an anxious state of being. When
disquieting things occur we deal with them through prayer, with
gratitude toward God, making our requests to Him for all our needs.
When we have fully prayed through those things that cause us concern
a wonderful thing happens! Shalom happens! He fills our heart with
the sort of peace that does not depend upon circumstances, but which
comes to us through a realization of the great love that He has for
His own. This perfect love casts out all fear, making real peace
possible for us, 'guarding your hearts and your thoughts in Messiah
Yeshua.' (see 1Jn 4:18)
Friends, I pray for you, that you may have a greater revelation of
His love for you than ever before and that His peace will quiet all
your fears and fill you with the joy of His presence! May He answer
your petitions and fill all of your needs. In Y'shua Messiah, Amen!
