Marriage Made In Heaven
Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the evening. He lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, there were camels coming.
Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she dismounted from the camel ... She took her veil, and covered herself ...
Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah’s tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his woman. He loved her.

Tsiyon Q + A
Listener Questions
Q. What is the timing of Psa 149?
A. Thanks for
asking!
Here is Psalm 149:
1 Praise YHWH! Sing to YHWH a new song, his praise in the assembly of the holy ones.
2 Let Israel rejoice in him who made them. Let the children of Tsiyon be joyful in their King.
3 Let them praise his name in the dance! Let them sing praises to him with tambourine and harp!
4 For YHWH takes pleasure in his people. He crowns the humble with salvation.
5 Let the holy ones rejoice in honor. Let them sing for joy on their beds.
6 May the high praises of Elohim be in their mouths, and a two-edged sword in their hand;
7 To execute vengeance on the nations, and punishments on the peoples;
8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;
9 to execute on them the written judgment. All his holy ones have this honor.
Praise Yah!
When Y'shua Messiah returns at the end of the Great Tribulation all
of His "Holy Ones" will meet the Lord in the air in their glorified
state. Then they will fight with Messiah against the wicked nations
of the earth who will already be gathered before them against Israel
for the battle of Armageddon, the final battle of this age. At that
battle, by means of Israel's Messiah and His Holy Ones, Israel will
"execute on them [the Gentile nations] the written judgment" spoken
through all of the prophets against them.
Q. The one page map with ancient territorial names and
Abraham's journey was very interesting to me. Seeing Abraham's trek
from Ur to Sumer to Babylon to Nineveh to Damascus to Egypt explains
much of ancient Bible history. Can you consider a detailed study
of Tarshish?
A. I'm really glad you enjoyed the map of Abraham's journeys.
As you noticed, his journeys set up many of the travels we read of
later in Scripture. Regarding Tarshish, Genesis 10:4 lists the man
Tarshish as the second son of Javan, son of Japheth, making him
Noah's grandson. The Scriptures often make reference to a place
called Tarshish, probably with this son of Japheth as founder of the
place. "The ships of Tarshish" are a frequent reference indicating a
great sea faring trading power of the ancient world.
According to Gill's commentary, Josephus says that Cilicia of the
first century world, with a principle city of Tarsus, was formerly
called Tarsus, which he takes as being the same as Tarshish. It is
the city of Tarsus where Sa'ul/Paul was born (Acts 22:3). Gill also
states that the Mediterranean sea is also sometimes called Tarshish,
"because the Cicilians were masters of it; and Tartessus in Spain
might be a colony from them, as Broughton observes; and so Eusebius
says, from the Tarsinns are the Iberians, or Spaniards; and which
Bochart approves of, and confirms by various evidences; and Hillerus,
makes Tarshish to be the author of the Celtae, that is, of the
Spanish, French, and German nations."
1 Kings 10:22 tells us that Solomon obtained "gold, and silver,
ivory, and apes, and peacocks" from the ships of Tarshish. Pliny
says, that almost all Spain abounded in metals of lead, iron, brass,
silver, and gold, but no tin, which they obtained from trade with
Britain.
Tarshish is indeed a fascinating subject for research, especially
since ships of Tarshish may have played a role in the travels of the
lost tribes to various parts of the world. I do hope that I will
have opportunity to look into this in much greater detail sometime
in the future.

From Eliyahu
There is something heartwarming about a charming love story. Genesis
24 certainly fits that bill.
It is the story of Abraham acquiring a bride for his son, Isaac. The
story is a gem in itself, but we also learn so much from it about
marriage, as perceived and understood in Scripture. Yes, marriages
are made in heaven, and this story is a wonderful blueprint of
exactly how that is done.
Shalom!
