We are considering chapters 36 through 39 of Exodus this week, with only one more chapter, chapter 40, still left to be done. As we approach the end of the book of Exodus it is uplifting and inspiring to see the willing-hearted men and women of Israel doing everything right! This, after a massive moral failure of the nation in which they almost lost it all. In these chapters we see YHWH graciously moving ahead with the pattern He had revealed to Moses in the Mountain. His repentant people now are given the privilege of building His Tabernacle, so that YHWH can live among them! This account fills the Remnant of Israel today with hope, because it reveals how YHWH works through His flawed people to accomplish His purposes in the real world. We can be His fellow-workers in bringing in the True Tabernacle - it is all within our grasp!

"The whole assembly of the Israelites gathered at Shiloh and set up the Tent of Meeting there. The country was brought under their control." -Joshua 18:1
(Israel)—The
Jewish Press reports that evidence
has been unearthed at the ancient site of
Shiloh that experts believe may prove the
city was a religious center even after it
was destroyed by the Philistines.
The
revelation at Shiloh, it notes, "is the
first evidence of post-Tabernacle
sacrificial worship at the same site
where the Bible states the first
Tabernacle was erected after the Jews
entered Israel following the Exodus from
Egypt and the 40 years of living in the
Sinai."
A Temple Institute report on the Shiloh
dig says, "Archaeologists have searched
for evidence of the Tent of Meeting (aka
The Tabernacle) for years. The [new]
findings include the discovery of holes
into the ground which could have held
the beams of a temporary structure.
"Because the Tent of Meeting and Ark of
the Covenant were portable,
archaeologists are considering the
possibility that the Tent of Meeting
stood there. The Tent of Meeting served
as a place of prayer and sacrifice until
the First Temple in Jerusalem was built
by King Solomon.
