From Eliyahu
Hello Friends,
What does it take to make you really angry?
Do people who knowingly harm the innocent for their own gain make you angry?
For example, does the systematic murder of countless millions of unborn babies disturb you?
Does the sale of the body parts of these same helpless babies totally disgust you?
Does misuse of political authority to line the pockets of wealthy friends at the expense of the hard-working public and the country make you angry?
Do a few black-robed judges overturning the will of the people and the highest law of the country AND even the law of God to establish wanton licentiousness as the law of the land get under your skin?
This list could be continued off the page and beyond - but I'm sure you get the idea, and that is: Righteous people have A LOT to be justifiably angry about these days.
The righteous indignation that you and I feel toward the growing wickedness of this world turns to frustration, as it becomes more and more apparent that all of this evil cannot be stopped by anything we might choose to do. For those who think we can still change the system for the better, let's look at the alternatives:
Clearly, trying to vote in better people won't help, because ALL CANDIDATES ARE CHOSEN BY THE EVIL SYSTEM. That makes voting nothing more than a sham to placate the people so they can FEEL LIKE they are making a difference. In reality, the only difference we see is everything getting worse.
Some say prayer will turn things around. In fact, a "National Day of Prayer" was actually signed into law (Public Law 82-324) in the United States in 1952 and has been promoted every year since then. How much improvement have we seen in the country due to the "National Day of Prayer" since 1952? Here is a partial list covering the first twenty years after the "National Day of Prayer" was instituted:
1960 - The Food and Drug Administration approved the first oral contraceptive, commonly known as "the Pill," for sale as birth control in the United States. This was a major factor in the "sexual revolution" of the sixties.
1963 - "The Feminine Mystique" by Betty Friedan was published as radical "feminism" began its work of destroying the fabric of families in America.
1963 - Abington Township School District v. Schempp - Bible reading and recitation of the Lord’s Prayer in public school was declared unconstitutional.
1965 - LSD from top-secret government laboratories was secretly released to the public as part of the CIA MK-ULTRA program, initiating the massive drug abuse problem that has been with us ever since.
1968 - The National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL) was founded.
1973 - Roe v. Wade - Laws prohibiting abortion were declared unconstitutional.
1973 to the present - This list just keeps going on and getting worse.
Bottom line - Prayer hasn't prevented the system from getting ever-more evil.
Prayer is not the answer to the growing wickedness around us because that wickedness is BY CHOICE. The Creator honors the free will of people to choose. If the people choose the wrong things He is not going to force them to choose the right things. That is why prayer has not and will not make an evil system become righteous. I'm not saying don't pray. I'm saying: pray for the righteous. Praying for the evil system is futile. (Jn 17:9)
If prayer won't change the evil system then what? Here's the most drastic response: In the past when the corrupt system got out of control the people would eventually rise up to overturn it by force of arms. Some people are surely thinking about that now. That was possible through the era of family farms, when people were much more self-sufficient. However, that cannot work today. Why? How many people can pay their mortgage and feed their family while mounting a war against the evil system? The truth is, most people can't live without the evil system! The average person is more dependent on the system than ever before in history. That's not to mention the monumental technological advantage the system has over the population, which is clearly too great an advantage to overcome. Or the fact that the righteous are only a minority so would be completely undermined by their fellow-citizens in any attempt at change by force of arms. No. Armed resistance is futile and can only result in needless bloodshed.
Where does that leave us?
It leaves us looking to our Creator for the solution. He is the only one with the wisdom and the power to deal with the monumental evil that is overtaking this world.
His solution? Divine vengeance!
If that sounds scary it is because it is scary - for all of those who choose evil over righteousness. If you are standing with the evil ones who are controlling this world He knows it AND He is planning vengeance upon you and all of the evil ones. Now is the time to repent and choose the Way of Messiah!
Know this: None of the evil-doers will escape His vengeance. Their technology won't help:
..There shall not one of them escape. Though they dig into hell, there my hand will take them; and though they climb up to heaven, there I will bring them down. Though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out there; and though they be hidden from sight in the bottom of the sea, there I will command the serpent, and it will bite them. Amos 9:1-3
While it is true that there is nothing we can do to stop the evil system, it is also true that there is nothing the evil-doers can do to stop the Divine retribution that is being stored up against THEM!
Therefore, beloved ones, we need not take it upon ourselves to change the evil world or to bring vengeance upon it. As Scripture so clearly says:
Don’t seek vengeance yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, “Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.”
Romans 12:19
In Bamidbar/Numbers 31, our Midrash passage this Sabbath, we learn a lot about the vengeance of YHWH. While this is a horror to the evil-doers, it is a comfort to the righteous.
There will be justice. The very Word of our Elohim guarantees it!
Blessings and Shalom,
Eliyahu ben David
Same-sex Marriage &
While homosexuality was practiced
by some in Bible times, there is virtually no record of any society on earth
practicing same-sex "marriage" until 2001, when the Netherlands became the first
country to legalize such unions. This year the U.S. Supreme Court with its 5-4
decision to legalize same-sex "marriages" in all 50 states added the USA to a
growing list of countries now promoting this new LGBT morality. In short, the
world has only recently entered upon a new moral paradigm that begs a response
from Bible scholars.
Responses vary.
Liberal theologians see the
biblical texts as simply the words of men trying to interpret the mind of God.
In their thinking, as humanity evolves these texts are subject to change.
Some conservative scholars, on the
other hand, look at human history and observe whole societies have been
extinguished due to sacrificing of children and deviant sexual practices.
Historically speaking, this makes the growing weight of sin for the abortion of
millions of unborn babies, and the wholesale promotion of deviant sexual
behavior two "red lines" that telegraph disaster for modern society.
Lately, conservative Bible
scholars are looking to ancient rabbinical texts containing oral tradition
handed down by Jewish sages for more insight into the question of same-sex
"marriage."
One of those texts is from the
rabbinical Midrash. The rabbinical commentary on Leviticus 18 reads:
“According to the doings of the
Land of Egypt … and the doings of the Land of Canaan … you shall not do”
(Leviticus 18:3) ..And what did they do? A man got married to a man, and a woman
to a woman, a man married a woman and her daughter, and a woman was married to
two (men). Therefore it is said, ‘And you shall not walk in their statutes.’”
Sifra Acharei Mot, parashah 9:8
This interpretation of the Jewish
sages would indicate that practices such as same-sex "marriage" were viewed as
especially evil - more evil than other sins. This idea does not square with
modern mainstream teaching in Christianity and Judaism today, which holds that
all sins are equal in the sight of God. In fact, some Christian denominations
such as the Episcopalians, the United Church of Christ, the Presbyterian Church
USA, the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America and many Quaker sects, already
teach that monogamous same-sex "marriage" is not a sin at all.
Some conservative Bible scholars
point out that a hierarchy of sin can be found in the Bible. Some sins, such as
adultery or murder, carried the death penalty. Other sins involved lesser
punishments or none at all. We all know intuitively that some sins are worse
than others. Which is worse: telling a "white" lie or murdering your neighbor?
This brings us to homosexual
practice. Where does this fit on the hierarchy of sin in the Bible?
The rabbinical Midrash noted above
indicates this as a major sin of the Canaanites, whom YHWH determined to
eradicate from the earth.
Before that we have the men of
Sodom, a city which was destroyed by Divine vengeance. These practices of Sodom
became so closely identified with Sodom that they were historically called
"sodomy" and those practicing them were called "sodomites." Laws against these
practices in the USA were commonly called "sodomy" laws. (Gen 19:4+5, Jude
1:7)
A number of Bible translations use
this "sodomite" terminology, as in this verse:
And there were also sodomites in
the land [of Israel]: and they did according to all the abominations of the
nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel. 1Ki 14:24 KJV
The point of this verse is clear:
YHWH "cast out" the Canaanite nations due to the "abominations" that Israelite
"sodomites" were then practicing, and this would result in Israel being "cast
out" as well.
These examples show that common
acceptance of "sodomy" is viewed in the Bible as an "abomination" that must
trigger judgment from YHWH.
If such Judgment must come, how
far will it go?
As I have demonstrated in the
video above, the source of the recent US Supreme Court decision was not the
Constitution of the US - it was the "Human Rights" charter of the United
Nations! This is a global push that will be enforced upon the whole world!
The lesson from ancient Sodom, the
Canaanites, and even the wayward Israelites is that the world has embarked upon
a path of sin that the Creator cannot and will not abide. It is only a matter of
time before vengeance will rain down on the wicked of this world as it did upon
Sodom. Truly, we are living in the last days of this world as prophesied in
Scripture. It is time to earnestly seek peace with the Righteous Judge while
there is yet a little time left to do so.
Vengeance
Upon the Canaanites?
