Have you seen the Lord of the Rings movies? Its really creepy at the beginning of the story how the evil of Sauron took hold and started to grow. At first it was imperceptible to most, while others more central to the eventual battle of good and evil seemed to sense the deceptive but growing threat at every turn. It seemed to them as if the invisible evil was at work in every quarter, expanding the realm of darkness in the world. This, I think, is a good metaphor for the darkness that is asserting itself in the world today.

For many people life on earth doesn't appear any different than it ever did. They just go about their business, seeking profits and pleasures, as they always have, oblivious to anything incompatible with those goals. The truth is, they don't want to know about any larger issues or forces that could burst forth to interfere with their plans. They prefer to live in the illusion that they are in control. They are god of their own lives, and nothing else can or will interfere with that - or so they behave. The darkness that is enveloping the world uses these people as an invisibility cloak. It is easy for the darkness to convince them of what they already want to believe, and in so doing create some sort of consensus in society that everything is basically OK, that what is not OK can be solved by normal processes and that there is no need to be too concerned about what is going on in the larger world.

Paradoxically, even what we know from the skewed popular media suggests a drastically different story than the one most people prefer to believe. For example, this last week Russian PM Dmitry Medvedev made a grave threat. The Washington Times headline put it like this: Russia threatens permanent world war if Saudis add ground troops to U.S. coalition. "World War" could really mess up your day. While a shaky ceasefire was established through a negotiation sponsored by Russia and the USA, nobody is betting on much traction from that. Meanwhile, were the Saudis just kidding about a possible ground war in Syria? See the article below for more on that. Also, realize that the Saudis have a much beefier military than most of us realize, with over 440,000 active members, and a defense budget over 80 Billion US Dollars - the third largest defense budget IN THE WORLD, according to 2014 figures. The more one looks into this situation the more one gets the feeling that a lot more destruction and death is on the way in the Middle East, with spillover globally.

Or how about the story of the death of Supreme Court Justice Scalia, who died at a West Texas hunting resort yesterday, February 14? On the surface it seems like a normal death, since Justice Scalia died at age 79, and he did have health issues. Yet, the more news unfolds the more nagging questions come to mind. mySA in a news report today, quoted John Poindexter, who discovered the body, as saying; "We discovered the judge in bed, a pillow over his head. His bed clothes were unwrinkled." Call me crazy, but I think "a pillow over his head" raises questions about the manner of his death.

The more I read the worse it got. Todays Washington Post presented more today, under this headline: The death of Antonin Scalia: Chaos, confusion and conflicting reports. Perhaps the strangest fact in the article is this: "Presidio County Judge Cinderela Guevara pronounced Scalia dead of natural causes without seeing the body — which is permissible under Texas law — and without ordering an autopsy." keep in mind we are not talking about some homeless drug addict found dead on a park bench. This is a Supreme Court Justice. In fact the most controversial and most conservative Supreme Court Justice on the bench. Justice Scalia wrote a scathing dissenting opinion against the majority Supreme Court ruling last summer, a ruling that made LGBT "gay marriage" the law of the land in every state of the USA. I mention that because I read numerous hateful comments on the Internet against Judge Scalia after that, some of them easily construed as death threats. With all that ire recently directed against Justice Scalia simple reason dictates that if all had been done above board Justice Scalia's body would have at least been inspected by a medical expert before declaring him "dead of natural causes" - and really, an autopsy was in order. What really happened and why? We'll probably never know for sure, but whatever it was, it smacks of evil.

What am I saying? Simply this: an evil agenda is advancing in the world. Seemingly unrelated events, of which I've listed only two among many, speak of an insidious evil advancing in the world, largely unopposed. If you are aware you can smell it in the spiritual atmosphere. It is a moral chill that can be felt on the nap of your neck. It is a sick feeling that can be sensed in the pit of your stomach. Evil is taking over, and if you are opposed to its aims it is eventually determined to kill you.

This is not the Lord of the Rings movies, where the brave good people rise up to overcome the evil. Frankly, this is more like the antediluvian world where "the thoughts of men's hearts are only evil all the time." This truth of the evil of this generation will be born out in all its horror as further events unfold.

There is only one answer for the righteous. There is only one place you can go. There is only one place of escape. Of course I'm speaking of the Remnant Exodus to the place of safety YHWH promises to prepare for us in the Land. Why? Because if YHWH doesn't save us from the Exile before this insidious evil reaches its peak, we will all be doomed. This is the message of YHWH through all of the prophets for these last days. Let us believe Him. Let us trust Him. Let us use this precious time to become strong in Him, transforming our minds in conformity with His Torah in the image of His Son, walking in His ways, preparing ourselves for the days ahead. This is our mission. This is our life.

PS - At this writing its looking a bit iffy whether or not we will be live streaming tonight, due to technical problems at YouTube. Their technicians are working the problem though, and we are praying, so we are still expecting to be there live for our Tsiyon Partners. Saudi Arabia launches military exercise with 20 nations

Ground Troops Exercise

(CNN)—Saudi Arabia launched a massive military exercise that will include troops from 20 nations, state media reported Monday.

The drill, dubbed North Thunder, involves Arab and Muslim countries, according to the Saudi Press Agency. It's taking place in King Khalid Military City in northeastern Saudi Arabia.

The news agency did not provide much information on what the exercise entails but called it "the largest in the region's history." The agency said it will involve air, sea and land forces.

Will Saudi Arabia send ground troops to Syria?

In addition to Saudi Arabia, other participating nations include Jordan, Bahrain, Senegal, Oman, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Sudan, Kuwait, the Maldives, Morocco, Pakistan, Chad, Tunisia, Comoro Islands, Djibouti, Malaysia, Egypt, Mauritania and Mauritius.

"North Thunder drills represent a clear message that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its brothers and friends of the participating countries stand united to confront all challenges and maintain peace and stability in the region," the agency said.

The announcement comes two months after Saudi Arabia said it will form a coalition of 34 nations to fight terrorism.

Saudi Arabia official: If all else fails, remove Syria's Assad by force

Munich, Germany (CNN)—Saudi Arabia's foreign minister says if the Syrian political process fails, President Bashar al-Assad will have to be removed "by force."

"I believe Bashar al-Assad is weak and I believe Bashar al-Assad is finished," Saudi Arabia's foreign minister Adel al-Jubeir told CNN's Christiane Amanpour in an exclusive interview in Munich, Germany.

Saudi Arabia is prepared to contribute ground troops to the fight in Syria, but only as part of a U.S.-led coalition, he said.

"Bashar al-Assad will leave — have no doubt about it. He will either leave by a political process or he will be removed by force."

"We will push as much as we can to ensure that the political process works. But if it doesn't work, it will be because of the obstinance of the Syrian regime and that of its allies."

"And should that prove to be the case, then it becomes clear that there is no option to remove Bashar al-Assad except by force."
