From Eliyahu
Hello friends,
Who can save the world?
Throughout history there has been one world power after another that has risen up with aspirations to rule the world, making promises of a better life for all. Yet, none of them have solved the world's problems for the good of mankind.
Millions once believed that communism would provide an equality to all persons that would bring in utopia on earth. However, the idealists were proven wrong through the 20th century, when communism in practice became a nightmare in which communist governments took the lives of over 100 million of their own citizens.
Many put faith in democracy as the fairest form of government, most likely to save the world. The confidence here is in the majority, based on the belief that most people are good and want to do the right thing. Many think of the United States as a democracy, but that was never the plan of the founding fathers of the country. In fact, when the founding fathers of the United States of America were considering what form of government they would adopt for the new country, they specifically rejected democracy as flawed. Thus, the word “Democracy” is not in the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, the Constitution, or the Bill of Rights. Benjamin Franklin explained democracy best, when he said that democracy is: “two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.”
Fraser Tyler was a historian and author of The Decline and Fall of the Athenian Republic. He pointed out the flaws of democracy over 200 years ago, saying; “A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.”
That's right, people ARE that selfish, and WILL destroy their own country in a frenzy to grab benefits for themselves - and democracy is the vehicle that allows them to do it. That, by the way, is why the elite love democracy. They can control the people through control of the media, by which they keep the minds of the people on trivia, or worse, fighting with each other. Meanwhile, they control the politicians with cash. Relatively small payoffs in the right places result in huge profits for the super-wealthy. This level of corruption must and will descend into a living hell - its only a matter of time.
All of that is why the founding fathers of the United States chose to create a constitutional republic - not a democracy. A republic is based on a shared set of values and principles, rather than simply mob rule. That can only work so long as the majority of the population has enough agreement and determination to make it work. The founding fathers were well aware of this weakness, as shown by a well known story. As Benjamin Franklin was exiting the Constitutional Convention a woman asked him: “Well, Doctor, what have we got—a Republic or a Monarchy?” Franklin replied: “A Republic, if you can keep it.”
Franklin knew, for a republic to thrive, the values it is based upon must thrive. Thanks to the culture war over the last generation, this is no longer the case in America. The Bible contains the bedrock of morality universally agreed upon by the founding generation of Americans. Today, their is no such consensus, as a new and ever-changing set of values, at odds with the traditional values, is violently asserting itself. When the inevitable tipping point is reached, that has to result in the end of the republic and the institutionalization of a new system for America, and then the world.
Get ready for Crazyland!
Trust me, that will be no salvation for mankind, but will be the worst possible nightmare for mankind.
So, who can save the world?
Only Messiah. This was impressed upon three of His disciples two thousand years ago, on a mountain, where they saw Him transfigured before their eyes. They saw Him in His Kingdom glory, and it was such a powerful sight that all three of them were knocked off their feet. The truth was revealed to them of just Who He is. He alone is worthy to rule the world. He is the rightful King. The elite of this world will resist Him to hold on to their privilege and power, but that will prove to be a vain effort for them.
Yes, He is coming soon. His Kingdom will rule! He will save His world! Amen!
May we all live to see it.
The Transfiguration is reported in Matthew 17, which will be under discussion at our Tsiyon Meeting tonight. Join us online at 8 PM CST at Tsiyon.Net, and be encouraged!
