Hello friends,

Do you remember being a child?

For some, the answer to that question is a joyful "yes!" If that's you, perhaps you have beautiful childhood memories of parents and siblings who treated you with love, respect and the care every child needs and deserves. That is how it should be, since childhood is when the foundation is laid for a person's entire life. Childhood can be a time of discovery and wonder, and a life filled with love and learning. God's plan is for every child to be loved, nurtured and protected by a mom and a dad who teaches them what the love of God really means - through both word and deed.

That is a great plan for children, but so often it isn't realized. Too many people today feel a stab of pain through their heart when they are asked; "do you remember being a child?"

Why? Why has the world become such a toxic place for many parents and their children?

No doubt, the reasons are complex. Most parents want to do well by their children, but many parents are still suffering from the hurts and pains they suffered as children. It can take a lifetime to come to grips with deep-seated wounds, and in the meantime, the can too often gets kicked down the road to the next generation. And so it goes, from generation to generation, a mountain of pain building along the way, with more broken children from more broken parents - until society becomes so overwhelmed by the family fallout that the original plan for children and families fades into virtual nonexistence.

None of this is God's fault, even if He is an easy target. The fact is, His plan is perfect, as is His love. If His plan were followed there would be a happy home for every child born into the world. That's what His will is, and has always been.

The fact is, there are wayward children. There are children who grow up with every advantage, yet, who do not appreciate what they have. Who spurn all the love that is lavished upon them. Who turn their backs on loving parents, to pursue a life of dissipation and selfishness. Those children must learn life's lessons the hard way - through otherwise unnecessary pain and suffering.

Our whole race has acted like wayward children toward our Creator, as Scripture says;

"The Rock! His work is perfect, for all his ways are just. A trustworthy God who does no wrong, he is righteous and straight. He is not corrupt; the defect is in his children, a crooked and perverted generation." Deuteronomy 32:4-5 CJB

Once we realize that the defect is in us, we can make a change to bless our children. All the troubles of this world, and all the troubles our own mistakes may have brought into our lives, and our children's lives, need not be an obstacle forever. As we turn back to our Father in heaven, asking Him for help to leave our own way, and to learn to walk in His way, things will begin to change for the better. You can't undo the past, but you can say you are sorry and determine to do better, with His help. Don't expect that all the problems you've created for yourself over a lifetime will be over in an instant. Yet, the start that initiates that change CAN happen in an instant, and often does. As you stick to it, the change will happen and everyone will see it - especially your children. This is an example for them that tells them that they are worth it. That they can make a new start if they need to, just like you have. You can be the one that stops the can from being kicked down the road! You can be the one who restores faith, obedience and life to your family. What greater gift could anyone bring to their children than that?    

All the little ones are precious in His sight, including you.

Don't forget it. Draw closer to Him today.

I wanted to bring you up to date on our building progress. This week with the help of our intrepid volunteers, we made excellent progress. The special joists to span the shop area arrived and because of their design, they were easier to put up than we all expected.

The second floor joist framework is taking shape!

We’ll soon be ready to begin raising the second floor! Thanks to the prayers and the help of our partners, we are moving ahead. There’s always the need for financial assistance to pay the suppliers though. Could you help be part of Yahweh’s provision to move this project along? Please ask Him what you should do.
