From Eliyahu
Hello friends,
The world can be a very harsh place. We all know this. However, from the beginning of time, no one has been so completely guiltless and yet been treated so badly as He was. The amazing thing is, even while He was going through the ordeal: the betrayal, the arrest, the accusations, the humiliations, the physical and emotional abuse, and even abandonment and denial by his friends - even through all this, He never gave in to fear, rage, revenge, or even self-pity. Yes, He could be abused. He could be tortured. He could even be killed. But He could never be changed, let alone defeated. He knew who He was, and He could not be moved. Period.
Sadly, on that occasion, the same could not be said for His friends. The Shepherd had been struck and the sheep had been scattered. But why? This too was not His fault. He had done everything possible to prepare them. The failure was their own. They did not prepare in advance, as He had done. When the trial came, they found themselves inadequate to meet it. As is common to most people in a panic, their lower emotions took over. Fear brought on a fight or flight response - mostly flight. Let's face it, they were afraid if they were seen anywhere near Him they would be spotted as His followers, and they could meet the same fate as what was befalling Him. Peter got a little closer, but this only put him in position to feel forced to deny His Lord - three times. Even though the disciples really had loved Y'shua, self-preservation reigned.
When all was well they had been confident of their faith in Him. He did and said such amazing things. But now the world was turned upside down. Everyone was against Him. Strange things were coming into their minds. What if they had been wrong? After all, something like this couldn't happen to Messiah could it? How could Messiah be arrested as a criminal? How could God let that happen, if He really was the Messiah? Fear brought on confusion. Now confusion brought on a dark gloom, and they became unsure of everything, even themselves - even Him.
It is easy to feel revolted that they had not done better. That they had not stood by Him in that difficult hour. Yet, were they really not appropriate stand-ins for us? How many times a day do each of us fail Him in some way? Have we never felt too overwhelmed to help a troubled soul? Have we never given way to fear instead of standing solid in faith? Have we never entertained unfounded doubts? As He so kindly said; "the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."
Isn't that why He came?
He came to save the lost - which is exactly where all of us would be without Him.
I'll tell you this, I find it hard to read this portion of Scripture and to contemplate what He had to endure. The betrayal, abandonment and denial from His friends especially disturbs me. I hate that we who love Him weren't there for Him as He is always there for us. This is where sin in the heart of man, even in the best of us, was exposed forever. He knew how much we needed/need Him. We are the ones who seem to have so much trouble grasping the enormity of our problem of sin. When crunch time came, we could add nothing to our salvation, not even a little encouragement for Him in His most difficult hour. He knew that is how it would be, and He did not hold it against us.
He came as a man, to be like us, to fully share in the human experience, which He did. Yet, in the end, the contrast between Him and us could not be more stark. His absolute perfection of character shines out like a rare diamond in comparison to the utter sinfulness of all humanity exposed by this real-life drama. His absolute righteousness exposed and then blew away the guilt of sin as a powerful light blows away the darkness of a night-time room. His righteousness overpowers sin, totally overwhelms it, and chases it away like a yelping dog with its tail between its legs. Sin never had a chance!
Don't be fooled by the fact that sin is still in the world. That is only because of grace, that sinners be saved and His plan completed. Now, sin is being allowed one last temper tantrum for a reason, and thereafter, it will be blotted out of the universe. Eradicated forever.
Only He could do that. He has done that, it is now just a matter of time until the clean-up is brought to a finish.
Join us tonight, at 8 PM CST at Tsiyon.Net for our online meeting, for more.
Shalom,
Eliyahu ben David

Hi Remnant Brothers and Sisters!
Shelia here.
With Messiah's help, We've been making a lot of progress on the building project!
Look at this!
Bringing in roofing materials. |
Installing the roof. It's done now! |
|
|
Oh yes, we've done all this too! |
We took a break for the 7th month, but we are really happy about the work we've gotten done since then. This is especially gratifying, since it is done out of the love of Messiah, by our Tsiyon volunteers. It's a big building, isn't it? It will take a lot more materials to finish it. You can share in the blessings by helping us with that part!
You can send your offering to:

See this video! - September 23, 2017, we were told, would be the date of The Great Sign of Revelation 12. Dire end-of-the-world predictions were made. Yet, after that day of "The Great Sign" came and went, and the predictions failed to materialize, we heard little if anything explaining the failure. This was not the first time this has happened, and won't be the last. Why? Signs in the sky are foretold in Scripture for the last days. True to that prophecy, unusual heavenly signs do occur. In fact, signs in the sky often cause a clamor, with predictions of rapture and the end of the world. Yet, these signs come and go, and the predicted events fail to happen. This, of course, provides an opportunity for scoffers to gloat. Why does this keep happening? Could it be that these signs are significant, but they mean something different than YouTube preachers have guessed? There is, in fact, a unified message in these sky signs. This video, "The Heavens Speak" reveals what that message is.
