From Eliyahu
Hello friends,
Let's
talk about the Sabbath, but first let's talk about elephants.
My first encounter with an elephant occurred when Ringling Bros. Circus
came to my town. I got on my bike and headed down to a big field in the
heart of town where the circus was setting up. A lot of the kids from the
town were there, milling around and just watching the big tent go up, and
talking with the crew as they worked setting up the site. Things were so
different then. Everyone was more self-sufficient and not so afraid of
everything. Most people actually liked kids back then, and kids were given
freedom to do cool stuff like this. Really, the circus was for kids and
their families, and just having the circus come to town was a big event. My
favorite experience that day was having an informal meeting with the
elephants, and with their trainer. He had a relationship with the elephants
and they with him. He actually encouraged me to put my hand
in the elephant's mouth to rub its tongue. He said the elephant would like
it, and he did. I touched the elephants trunk too. It was really rough and
scratchy. Can you imagine that?
Just last year, 2017, the circus closed down for good. Here's
what the owner said:
On
Sunday, May 21, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey®
said its final farewell to a sold-out crowd of incredibly enthusiastic
fans. The response they gave to everyone who made the show possible –
performers, staff and crew – was heartwarming. Though it was difficult
to say goodbye, my family and I were heartened to send off The
Greatest Show On Earth® in the celebratory and positive
fashion that this American treasure deserves. Source:

It's sad that no other kid will ever have the experience of the circus that
was part of my childhood. If you would like to see highlights from that last
show you can see the video on the
Ringling.com website. For me, watching the
video, one thing stands out: there is not a single elephant in that circus.
No wonder the circus did not survive!
Here is why there were no elephants in
the final show:
Circus
animal acts have long treaded — and often overstepped — delicate ethical
lines, but a recent development shows that the industry is catching up
with the times. Speaking to the Associated Press, the iconic Ringling
Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus confirmed retiring its touring
elephants in May [2016], fulfilling its promise to end all elephant acts a year
and a half earlier than previously planned.
They got rid of the elephants and a year later the circus was closed down
for good. When I was a kid society believed that animals were made for the
enjoyment and use of man, just as Genesis tells us. Hence, the circus. Now,
society doesn't believe that. Hence, no circus. Its as simple as that.
What
about elephants? There can be no doubt that elephants in the wild enjoy
their freedom. They are social creatures and seem to be very happy together
in the wild, hanging out together and doing what elephants do.
This social aspect of elephants is probably why they can be
domesticated. From what I saw, they seem to enjoy interactions with humans,
and even performing for them, and enjoy getting a little treat or pat on the
head to tell them they did a good job. Elephants are smart, as animals go,
so once they are trained, that is, their minds programmed, they generally
perform as expected, without being unhappy about it. They adapt very well to
being domesticated - except on those rare occasions when they don't. When
that happens people can get killed. Other than that, the vast majority of
elephants seem to adapt very well to domestication, as do many other
animals, such as horses, oxen, camels etc.
Humans
alone are created in the image of God, so rightfully have dominion over all
other creatures on earth. Humans are not like elephants, in the sense that
they were not created for the enjoyment and use of humans, as animals were.
People were created under the dominion of their Creator, to serve His
interests. Every mind needs some parameters to operate from, to be able to
function at all. As a trainer programs the mind of elephants to know how to
behave, so our Creator has given us a program for our minds to operate from.
That 'program' we need to function from is His written word, especially the
Torah which contains His commandments. All of these commandments are
encompassed by the Ten Commandments, and these ten can further be reduced to
just Two Great Commandments, which are:
Hear, Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one: you
shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your
soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is
the first commandment.
The second is like this, You shall love your neighbor
as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these. Mark
12:28-31
Notice that all of the commandments, when reduced down to these
two, are about love - not about a minutia of rules. Love is a divine
attribute intrinsic to children of Adam, created in the image of God. Love
must be operative for the commandments to function. This is elementary. You
must be operating in freedom to truly exercise love, since acts of love must
emerge from the free will and conscience of the individual. Your Creator
intends you to be free to choose and free to act. He never intended for us
to keep the commandments by programmed behavior. They must be made operative
through love, energized within the free will of the person.
That's all great - except for the fact that our programming is
getting messed up every day in this imperfect world. Other humans seek to
enslave us. They maintain that slavery by seeking to instill a matrix of
thought within us to control our behavior, just as the trainer does with the
elephants. Government, religion, corporations, society, the elite - all are
trying to instill their own matrix of behavior within our minds. This is
wrong, and is the reason for insanity, confusion, and all sorts of mental
anguish. Letting all of these false directives into our minds short circuits
our spirit and often causes us to behave more like animals than men. We were
meant to be free of manipulation so that we can operate in the image of God
in the world. So what do we do about that?
Keep the Sabbath.
The
Sabbath is all about periodically washing all of that refuse out of our
brain by leaving the world behind and connecting up with our Creator. The
Sabbath is about freedom, and rest from the bondage of the world. On the
Sabbath, if we keep it as intended and not like a machine, we get in closer
touch with our Creator. This sets us free from all of that false programming
and energizes the radical freedom of the sons of God within our inner man.
Then we are set free to love! You need the Sabbath, to keep your inner man
working right. You can be a free person in a world that is trying to enslave
you. The Sabbath, as given by our Creator and as revealed to us by our
Messiah, can set you free to be the very best of what you were created to
be. Fight back! Keep the Sabbath!
The Sabbath is way bigger than an elephant!
Messiah kept the Sabbath, exactly as I have explained above. He
was/is always free to love, and seemed to do more of that on the Sabbath
than at any other time. You might think you know all of the Sabbath stories
from the Gospels, but do you get the bigger picture of what they mean for
you? There would not be so much about Messiah and the Sabbath in the Gospels
if this was just about tipping your hat to a certain day of the week. There
is something dynamic and powerful in this that Messiah is trying to get
across to you, and to all of us.
Join us at tonight at our Tsiyon meeting
to see the Sabbath in a whole new way.
Join us at 8 PM CST at Tsiyon.Net.
Attorney general to police: No evidence of
graft for indicting Netanyahu
Reprint: Debkafile, Jan 24, 2018
Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit let it be
known Tuesday, Jan.23, that the police had no case for bringing the
prime minister to trial for bribery. For more than two years, police
investigators had been assembling this case against Prime Minister
Binyamin Netanyahu around his custom of accepting lavish gifts from
tycoons. Not a day went by, without police leaks to a flock of
“investigative reporters,” who built glittering careers by carrying
news that the police would shortly present an ironclad corruption
case against Netanyahu. But on Tuesday, they were all struck dumb
when “sources close to the attorney general” counter-leaked his view
to TV Channel 2, which was that the police had failed to procure the
evidence for the prosecution to go to trial.
Mandelblit also warned that if the prosecution
tried to bring the case to court, it would be dismissed for lack of
evidence, and the party shown up for falling down on the job would
not be the police commissioner, but the prosecution and justice
system, both which would suffer a ruinous assault on their
credibility.
Most of the mainstream media were too shocked
to react. They had relied on the absolute certainty of the prime
minister’s criminalization for their lead stories year after year
and it had vanished too fast for them to take it in. However,
political and media insiders had known for some time that the
attorney general had given the police due notice: You’ve done a
great job, he told them, but if you will excuse me, the material you
have submitted to me in “Dossier 1000” (bribe-taking) and “Dossier
2000” (inappropriate dialogue with a newspaper publisher) won’t
stand up in court. I don’t see any evidence of bribe-taking by the
prime minister. The only service he performed for the tycoon Arnon
Milchen in return for his many personal gifts was to arrange his
American visa. That service is not out of order when the tycoon in
question contributed importance services for Israel’s national
security. Questioning James Packer, an Australian billionaire and
friend of the prime minister, yielded not a single iota of proof to
support a charge of bribery – or even inappropriate behavior by the
prime minister.
Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit
The attorney general is reported to have proposed as a face-saver
for the police the merger of the two dossiers, to be relabeled with
the single charge of “breach of trust.” Even then, the chances of a
conviction are marginal, he said, and even so, the charge is too
minor to affect Netanyahu’s political activities as prime minister.
Netanyahu himself called the campaign, whose
avowed purpose was to topple him by stigmatizing him with
corruption, a witch hunt. It now turns out to have been a washout,
which has moreover blown up in the faces of its three main
instigators:
One: The Israeli police, whose
investigators traveled across the globe for two years, leaving no
stone unturned, in their quest for evidence of wrongdoing powerful
enough to unseat the prime minister. When they realized that real
pay dirt was nowhere to be found, certain senior police officers
picked up another weapon: a smear campaign. They pumped out leaks
to the media of actions by Netanyahu that were presented as dubious
and tainted with corruption. The campaign was seemingly authorized
by Police Commissioner Ronnie Alsheikh, who was quoted in whispers
running through police headquarters as having “declared war on
corruption and determined to allow nothing to stand in his way.” No
one knows for sure where the quote came from or whom it targeted.
But whoever it may have been, the highest echelons of the police
will have realized by now that they missed their aim. Tuesday night,
it was announced that Commander Ronnie Ritman, head of the Lahav 433
unit, which led the Netanyahu investigation, had resigned.
Two: Former prime minister
Ehud Barak, one of Netanyahu’s most vocal foes, lost no time in
making his views known. He tweeted Wednesday: “The big whitewash has
begun. Channel 2 revealed that the attorney general is scared that
if Netanyahu is acquitted, he will be forced to kill himself. What
nonsense. Everlasting shame will be the lot of anyone who
whitewashes [the truth?] that everyone knows without waiting for a
trial to prove it. The attorney general is spineless; he is a safe
formula for letting the country sink into corruption and down the
slippery slope to the ‘third world.’” Barak went on to say. “Instead
of offering convoluted arguments and his own fear, Mandleblit should
recuse himself from handling the Netanyahu dossiers. It’s all too
much for him.”
For Ehud Barak, who yearns for a comeback to
political life, the prime minister’s guilt doesn’t need to be proven
before a court of law, or even an investigation. “What everyone
knows” is good enough for him, although several million other
Israelis would insist on due process before presuming his guilt.
Barack is not the only political has-been who
trusted in Netanyahu’s certain comedown to offer a ladder for them
to climb back to the top. Queuing with him were Yair Lapid of the
Future Party, who bandies the word “corruption” in every sentence,
along with his self-anointment as “the next prime minister;” as well
as the newly elected Zionist Camp chairman Avi Gabay, who has still
to make his mark; former defense minister Moshe Ya’alon and many
others. They are venting their frustrations on the man who whipped
the ladder out of their reach, the attorney general. For starters,
he is threatened with “everlasting shame.” What about democracy? And
how much contempt may be poured on the state’s system of justice!
For more than a year, anti-Netanyahu protesters have been holding
vigils outside the attorney general’s home, demanding that he put
the prime minister on trial for corruption. Last Saturday, they
heckled him outside the synagogue where he was praying.
Three: The mainstream media
enlisted its senior reporters and finest talents for the campaign to
promote Binyamin Netanyahu’s downfall. What will replace their daily
stream of “authoritative prognoses” that the prime minister’s guilt
is absolute and his indictment imminent? Perhaps if they had
occasionally mentioned a setback in the investigation and balanced
their reporting, they would not now be stuck with having to eat
their hats. They are likely instead to launch a new campaign.

See this video! - September 23, 2017, we were told, would be the date of The Great Sign of
Revelation 12. Dire end-of-the-world predictions were made. Yet, after that
day of "The Great Sign" came and went, and the predictions failed to
materialize, we heard little if anything explaining the failure. This was
not the first time this has happened, and won't be the last. Why? Signs in
the sky are foretold in Scripture for the last days. True to that prophecy,
unusual heavenly signs do occur. In fact, signs in the sky often cause a
clamor, with predictions of rapture and the end of the world. Yet, these
signs come and go, and the predicted events fail to happen. This, of course,
provides an opportunity for scoffers to gloat. Why does this keep happening?
Could it be that these signs are significant, but they mean something
different than YouTube preachers have guessed? There is, in fact, a unified
message in these sky signs. This video, "The Heavens Speak" reveals what
that message is.
