From Eliyahu
They say time is like a river, and so it is. A river often has a destination. It may make its way from the mountains, through the plains, the jungle, and through all sorts of terrain. Finally it spills out into the sea, where it is absorbed into something far larger than itself. Is time like that? Is that what we are looking at when we consider history? Sometimes tributaries join together to form a mighty stream, narrowing down into frothy rapids, inevitably speeding up until finally terminating in a mighty waterfall. Is the stream of time rapidly speeding up as it rushes toward an inevitable climactic conclusion - just like that? Like the mighty river, the course of time is not just random. It has a definite destination, a dramatic and sudden termination point. So says the oldest of all books, the Bible. Science fiction imagines man as the master of time, able to zip forward and backward in time as easily as a fish swims back and forth in the water. This is a fun thought, but the truth is, we are all captured by time, and are unable to break free. We, like a man caught in the rapids, can only move in one direction, forward, inevitably forward, whether we want to or not. Time is the great equalizer of all men, the rich and the poor, the small and the great - all are in the grip of time, and eventually time will take all men to their termination point. Like the man about to go over the falls, you can fight against it, but in the end the river will have its way. Despite all that, there is a way to flow with the river of time and to come through it in tact. While time seems like an enemy, it was actually created to be your friend. Time, like everything else in the natural world, was actually created for a purpose - was created for man. It was created by the One who dwells outside of time, He who lives in eternity. Time separates the worthy from the unworthy. Time provides us an adequate but limited space to come to know our Creator, and to make a choice to live according to the purpose for which He created us, or to ruin ourselves and end in disaster. We each decide that for ourselves. Time forces every person to make that choice - whether they consciously realize that or not. As the Scripture says:
It may seem like time will always be with us, and like the world will never change. Yet, the world does nothing but change. It is the flow of time that makes that change possible. There is a Lord of Time. He is the one who created time for His purpose. He alone actually controls time itself, and knows time from the beginning to the end. He says:
Time is not random. It had a beginning and will come to an end. Time moves according to His great plan, to accomplish His great purpose. There is a pattern and a structure to time, known to the Creator, and concealed in the pages of His Word. It is there for a reason, for His friends. Like that river rushing toward the falls, time is soon reaching a termination point. right now, time is rushing toward a climactic conclusion in this last age of the world, as we know it. That is so obvious that even unbelievers see it coming, and shutter. The whole world is shaking and flailing, like a drowning man. Craziness is everywhere. It is a sign of the end of the age, like the frothing waters just before the plunging falls. What will happen? When will it happen? God knows, but can we? Has God made a way of escape for His friends, as He has done before? Surely, their are clues in His Word, but can they be known? If you care about your future see this: The Last Age of the World - Conclusion. Tonight via our live video stream, right on the front page, at www.tsiyon.org at 8 pm CST. Come, invite your friends, and be prepared for the rapids, just ahead. Shalom, Eliyahu ben David Tsiyon.Org ****************************************
