From Eliyahu:
Shalom friends,
He
had told them several times that He would be killed, and then raised from
the dead in three days, but even His closest friends could not grasp or
accept what He was saying. Even when it happened, just like He said, and He
was killed and laid in a tomb, no one expected Y'shua to rise from the dead.
They were all in mourning and in shock, as they shared the burden of their
great loss together. When word came from trusted friends who had been there,
that the tomb was empty, and that Y'shua had been raised from the dead, his
closest disciples still wouldn't believe it. A significant part of the
account of the resurrected Messiah recorded in the Gospels is devoted to the
unbelief associated with His resurrection, and His making Himself known to
His disciples and friends, in His same body, living once again.
If these accounts were not true and just a
story made up by His disciples to launch their new religion, as some say,
how likely is it that they would portray themselves as full of unbelief?
Wouldn't the story show everyone else as unbelievers, while the disciples
devoutly stood by His side and believed Him all along? Wouldn't their
faithful belief in, and support, of their Messiah be presented as the reason
why we should trust in their story? The real story is very different from
that, the real story presented in the Gospels, the story in which His
disciples failed Him at every turn through and immediately after His ordeal,
death and resurrection. According to that real story, they acted just as we
probably would have acted in their place. Death is final. We all have seen
it. We all have dreaded it. We all know that when your number is up even the
most skilled surgeon will not be able to hold back that all-consuming foe.
We all are slow to believe anyone could come back from death, and rightly
so.
Of
course, that's what makes His resurrection from the dead such a powerful and
meaningful event. If its true, if He really was raised from the dead, that
means that death really has been defeated, and you really can be raised from
the dead through Him as well! As true and as wonderful as that may be,
unbelief is a tough nut to crack. Unbelief is represented as logical, but it
really isn't, because unbelief avoids belief by making up endless excuses to
avoid acceptance of an unacceptable truth. The Gospel accounts are being
verified by hard facts, and most unbelievers just keep blowing it off.
Take, for example, The NBC NEWS article
entitled "Gospel Verse Found On Ancient Shrine." The article reports on the
discovery of inscriptions on an ancient shrine in Jerusalem, The monument is
in the Kidron Valley, to the east of Jerusalem’s walled Old City and west of
the Mount of Olives. one of the inscriptions is the same as a verse from the
Gospel book of Luke! The article states:
"The inscription declares that the
60-foot-high monument is the tomb of Simon, a devout Jew who the Bible
says cradled the infant Jesus and recognized him as the Messiah."
Of course, the article then does all it can
to cast doubt on the amazing find, even though it is literally written in
stone right before their eyes! This negative spin is contrary to the
findings of the archeologists who discovered the inscription, and also found
another inscription on the same tomb naming the father of John the Baptist.
The archeological experts clearly believe these inscriptions to be
authentic, reported in the quote below:
[Joseph] Zias, a member of the Science
and Archaeology Group, a team of scholars affiliated with the Hebrew
University of Jerusalem, found the Zachariah inscription by chance — in
a photograph of the facade taken just before sundown. Had the photograph
been taken at any other time of day, he might not have seen the worn
inscription. Using a squeeze, Puech deciphered the words: “This is
the tomb of Zachariah, martyr, very pious priest, father of John.”
[James] Strange said he had little doubt the inscriptions were genuine.
If fake, “then it was forged by someone who failed because nobody
noticed (the inscriptions),” he said.
In these inscriptions we have archaeological
evidence of three actual persons included in the Gospel accounts, Simeon,
Zachariah, and John. Other discoveries in recent times were the tomb of
Caiaphas in Jerusalem, an inscription naming Pontius Pilate in Caesarea, and
even the baptismal site, called a mikvah, of the first Messianic believers
in Jerusalem led by James the brother of the Lord! Other discoveries could
also be cited because there is a growing mountain of proof that the Gospels
give a true account of real events naming real people and places.
There
is just too much evidence that the Gospel accounts are real to just blow
them off as fictional fluff. Yet, when it comes to believing in the
resurrection of Messiah, something more is needed. This is shown by what
happened on the road to Emmaus (which road has also been found, by the way)
where the risen Lord walked with two of His disciples, family members
really, and revealed Himself to them, and suddenly their eyes were opened to
the truth and they recognized their Risen Relative! The profound reality of
the resurrection must come as revelation knowledge to have its full impact.
Once that happens, a person's life is forever changed. It was true back
then, and it is still true today.
Join us
tonight
for our live video stream at
tsiyon.net, at 8 pm cst. We will be focusing
on the resurrection account in the book of Luke. It is profound in its
life-changing simplicity, and power. Don't miss it!
Is a Global Government Really Possible by 2030? Read this!
Editor's Note: No doubt you have noticed the
recent political backlash against globalism in favor of
nationalism. The "America First" agenda of Donald Trump, the "Brexit"
vote in the UK, and recent elections in numerous countries
favoring nationalist politicians all give some people the
impression that globalism has been defeated. This is simply not
so, based on the demographics.
The fact is, middle-aged and up voters are largely
responsible for defending traditional values and nationalist
politics, including the backlash against globalist policies. In
other words, it is the baby boomer generation that is now
holding back the globalist tide. Baby boomers are defined as
people born between 1946 and 1964 in the post-World War II era.
About 77 million Americans were born in this time period, making
it significantly larger than the generations born immediately
before and after, and the demographics are similar in other
developed countries.
According
to the AARP, 10,000 baby boomers are turning 65 every single day
in the USA alone, and this is expected to continue into the
2030s. A major public policy concern for the upcoming millennial
generation is termed "The “2030” Problem" - when health and
other needs of the aging baby boomer population are forecast to
become potentially unsustainable. Well before then aging baby boomers
will already be viewed as a burden on society rather than
shapers of public opinion. By then the millennial generation,
which is now already the largest generation, will be firmly in
control of public policy, and their globalist views will have
carried the day.
Are a majority of millennials
really that supportive of globalist policies? You bet they are!
The reprinted article is not our opinion - it presents the
opinion of a majority of Millennials today.
Millennials Stand for Globalism
and Want to Shape the Future
Reprint: Businesswire - Nov. 15,
2017 [Edited for length]
New research commissioned by Western Union shows that millennials
across 15 countries are united by a belief in globalization,
want the freedom to experience the opportunities it brings, and
have a desire to play a role in shaping the future using
technology. The survey of more than 10,000 millennials reveals
that this group is confident that globalization will make the
world a better place for themselves and others and are committed
to leading the change.
The
world—politically, economically, socially, and
technologically—is in flux. But what does this all mean for our
future? The Western Union Company (NYSE: WU) has commissioned a
first-of-its-kind global study about millennials’ beliefs,
hopes, and aspirations for the future and the world that they
wish to shape for themselves and others.
The
2017 Western Union Global Study—"Globalization: A World View of
the Future”—surveyed
native, first-generation, and foreign-born people between the
ages of 20-36 in Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Egypt,
Germany, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Russia, South Africa, United
Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, and Vietnam
through online interviews. Most countries surveyed represent
significant millennial populations.
The
survey shows that in sharp contrast to current geopolitics, this
diverse group of tomorrow’s future shapers is united by a belief
in a world of collaboration, unrestricted by geographical
borders.
Western
Union President and Chief Executive Officer Hikmet Ersek said,
"The world is changing and there is a new economic power shift
driven by a new generation of global citizens. They are shaping
the future, and inspiring others to do the same. They are
redefining globalization to one of ‘personal globalization’
where the pursuit of limitless cross-border movement,
cross-border digital communication, and creative lifestyle
drives new economic power. These
inspiring future shapers are the leaders of tomorrow and are
looking at how they want the world to be, not only for
themselves, but for all. This generation is made up all kinds of
future leaders—entrepreneurial, corporate, political, and social
influencers. It is vitally important to understand what they
think and what they want the world to look like.”
Western
Union operates in 200 countries and territories worldwide, and
commissioned the survey to gain additional insights into the
younger customers it serves through its digital channels.
The
following key findings are highlighted as important to
millennials.
Global
Citizenship: The Way of the Future
Global
citizenship is pivotal for creating the world millennials want
for the future, as they believe the concept of belonging to one
individual country is outdated. Millennials view connection and
collaboration as the most critical steps forward to achieving
global citizenship.
Freedom to
Be Global Safeguards the Future
The
idea of limitless movement empowers millennials, as they believe
it will allow them to control their destiny. The majority of
millennials believe that creating a more open world will unlock
opportunities for better job prospects and result in economic
freedom, including the ease of money movement.
Governing
the Future
Today,
borders going up across the world—and politicians and
governments reasserting the concept of the nation state—are
leading many millennials to believe that these institutions are
not representing their respective views. However, a significant
number of millennials are adamant that collaboration is
essential and believe that shaping the future is up to them,
rather than institutions.
Unity and
Inclusiveness
There
are mixed sentiments regarding whether the world is at peace,
given concerns that increased racism and nativism may pose a
threat to global citizenship and an open world. Millennials
believe the most important trait to eradicate social
discrimination is ensuring that there is respect for diversity.
The 2017
Western Union Global Study"Globalization: A World View of the Future”Key
Findings:
Global
Citizenship: The Way of the Future
Global citizenship is pivotal
for creating the world millennials want for the future, as they
believe the concept of belonging to one individual country is
outdated. Millennials view connection and collaboration as the
most critical steps forward to achieving global citizenship.
The majority see themselves as
global citizens rather than a citizen of any one country.
This view is shared regardless of if they are native, first
generation, or foreign born.
Approximately 90 percent agree
that a better global future can be achieved through
collaboration. They believe countries need to collaborate,
rather than compete with one another, leading to a better
global future.
More than 8 in 10 state that the rise of social media has
played a significant role in uniting the world.
Nearly two thirds believe that
the free flow of technology and information across borders
will become easier, but anticipate the flow of political
ideas and people to become more difficult or remain stagnant.
The majority view connection as a critical step forward to
achieve global citizenship. Staying connected to global news
via social media, connecting with people from
different cultures, travelling to new places, and
interacting with people that are different from themselves is their way of creating a world they want
for the future.
Freedom to
Be Global Safeguards the Future
The idea of limitless
movement empowers millennials, as they believe it will allow
them to control their destiny. The majority of millennials
believe that creating a more open world will unlock
opportunities for better job prospects and result in economic
freedom, including the ease of money movement.
The desire for global
citizenship is also about young people safeguarding their
future. Almost eight in ten agree the thought of a future
with limitless movement around the world empowers them.
More than two thirds agree
they are better off financially due to their ability to live
and work in other countries.
More than eight in ten agree that their ability to live and
work in other countries will unlock opportunities for a
better job and education, and is a key component to their
economic and personal freedom.
There is also the hope that
people and business will work together, and that the
exchange of commerce and money will become easier by 2030.
More than half believe that sending money to a person in
another country is set to get easier by 2030, ..arguing that
a single global currency would foster great global unity.
Eventually, they believe that the world will take on a more
globalized outlook, with 79 percent believing that the
future will fit with the aspirations of global citizens.
Governing
the Future
Today, borders going up
across the world—and politicians and governments reasserting the
concept of the nation state—are leading many millennials to
believe that these institutions are not representing their
respective views. However, a significant number of millennials
are adamant that collaboration is essential and believe that
shaping the future is up to them, rather than institutions.
More than eight in ten want to participate or have
their say on future matters of global and national
significance. They believe technology can enable individuals
to make their voices heard more easily.
Seven out of ten believe
future governments will be hybrids of democratic
institutions and individuals—representing the power of
people.
More than two thirds believe
that shaping the future is up to them as individuals, rather
than governments.
Many believe the creation of a globalized world
requires shared responsibility of all. This includes global
and national stakeholders, such as international
organizations, governments, the private sector, local
communities, and individuals, all taking responsibility.
Many expressed concerns that governments today are not
fulfilling their hopes or representing their generation’s
views. Two thirds believe that global institutions like the
United Nations are more representative of them, rather than
national or local governments.
Unity and
Inclusiveness
There are mixed sentiments
regarding whether the world is at peace, given concerns that
increased racism and nativism may pose a threat to global
citizenship and an open world. Millennials believe the most
important trait to eradicate social discrimination is ensuring
that there is respect for diversity.
Those surveyed identify racism and a fear of immigrants as
the biggest threats to global citizenship and an open world, followed by nationalist politics, religious
differences, and outdated immigration policies.
The most important traits for achieving global citizenship
and eradicating social discrimination is ensuring that there
is respect for diversity and the ability to embrace other
countries. Those surveyed identify respect for diversity, the ability to embrace other cultures,
and adaptability as the most important traits of a global
citizen.
These future shapers believe that tackling issues of racism,
xenophobia, religious intolerance, gender inequality, and
freedom to be anywhere in the world are important to
creating an ideal future world. A future free of racism; barriers based on gender, religion, culture, or
nationality; and the ability to live, work, and play
anywhere in the world were cited as the three most
important factors for success.
The study consisted of a 15-country survey of 11,060 millennials
(ages 20 to 36) with a +1.0% margin of error globally. The
research was conducted by Research Now via online interviews
from September 26 to October 6, 2017.
