Hello Friends,

As you observe this crazy world that just keeps getting more crazy - and evil - does it ever provoke a sense of despair? A feeling like everything is out of control and the world can never be right? Many people do feel that way. For some, that feeling provokes in them a sense of "what's the use? Why should I even try to be a good person. Why fight the tide?"

The last day of Sukkot, called "The Last Great Day" is an annual antidote to that corrosive feeling. "The Last Great Day" is a day of hope and promise of a whole new world, a world in which all evil, pain and even death will be gone forever. The "Last Great Day" is why how you live DOES MATTER. It is the DAY when everything is set right forever.

The prophets of YHWH saw a vision of this stunning future world, and wrote it down for us. It will be a future where everything, of heaven and earth, will be new. For example, the prophet, Isaiah, wrote down these words of our Creator:

“For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former things will not be remembered, nor come into mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in that which I create; for, behold, I create Jerusalem to be a delight, and her people a joy. I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and delight in my people; and the voice of weeping and the voice of crying will be heard in her no more. ..They will build houses, and inhabit them. They will plant vineyards, and eat their fruit. They will not build, and another inhabit. They will not plant, and another eat: for the days of my people will be like the days of a tree, and my chosen will long enjoy the work of their hands. They will not labor in vain, nor give birth for calamity; for they are the offspring of YHWH’s blessed, and their descendants with them. It will happen that, before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. The wolf and the lamb will feed together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. Dust will be the serpent’s food. They will not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain,” says YHWH.        Isaiah 65:17-25

Even in that pristine world to come, faithful Israel will be at the center of Yah's plan. That should inspire His Remnant Nation in these days to rise up to our destiny, to give the world a glimpse of that future world, as it is foreshadowed in the midst of His people, even now. Even while this dark world seems to reign, in which so many are in despair. Israel, Remnant Israel, is called to be a light to the nations, to light the way home for every righteous-hearted person!
