The new secular year got off to a roaring start, with the most serious clash the USA has had with Iran since the 1970s.  The world's "foremost terrorist" was killed by a drone strike, other people were killed, missiles have been fired in retaliation, an airliner was destroyed with 170+ passengers killed, WW3 was feared - and that was all in the first ten days of the year! Besides that, in the opening days of 2020 we have the ongoing fires ravaging Australia, 196 earthquakes of magnitude 4 or greater in various places, and the list of crises, disasters and bad news goes on. On the plus side, some of the bad news we were warned would occur by 2020 didn't happen, as per this quote:

"Well, this is awkward. Montana’s Glacier National Park is being forced to remove all signs that read “glaciers will all be gone by 2020,” after the doomsday scenario didn’t happen. Some of the signs were already removed last year as it became clear the prediction wasn’t going to unfold. Now the rest of the signs will have to be taken down too.

..The 2004 prediction that major European cities would be underwater and that Britain would be plunged into a Siberian climate by 2020 didn’t happen [either].

..In the late 90’s and early 2000s, scientists predicted that man-made global warming would cause melting glaciers, leading to rapidly rising sea levels that would sink coastal cities and towns. The more dire forecasts have proven to be totally inaccurate and some glaciers are now growing. Back in June, NASA reported that the Jakobshavn Glacier in western Greenland had thickened and “has grown for the third year in a row.” [summit.news, Jan 9,2020]

Even though we can all breath a sigh of relief for the polar bears, there still remains more than enough stressors in the 21st century world to send the average Joe looking to find some peace. Indeed, the world is moving so fast we are all pretty much suffering from future shock, and there are no signs that "the good old days" (whatever they were) will ever return to this world. People are constantly on edge, never knowing what absurdity they will be dealing with next. Fortunately for us believers, we know our real future doesn't lie in this world. Our real life will begin when our Messiah returns! Remember, He promised us:

"I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you." John 16:22

What a great hope! Eternal joy with our Messiah is coming! Having real hope is a great help getting through all the craziness this world throws at us. More good news though, Messiah also gave us the Spirit of the Truth to help guide us through the evil and confusion of this world. He said:

"However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming."   John 16:13

"I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

As you may also know, our Tsiyon headquarters here in Texas suffered the loss of our entire facility to a fire, back in 2011, so we are well aware of how devastating fires like this can be.
