The first men on the Moon. This was a human accomplishment so completely unprecedented that some people couldn't believe it had really happened. Some still don't believe, claiming it was all a hoax. They must have missed the Walter Cronkite narration as the amazing event unfolded on TV for all to see. Like so many others back then, I saw it, and was amazed. Surely, this event marked a "new era" for mankind. Was it a sign we had entered the final generation of this age, that Messiah had prophesied about? He had said:

"There will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, in perplexity". Luke 21:25

This seems like very old news to many, at this point, having happened over fifty years ago. However, that final generation that began in 1967 has not yet fully run its course, and before it does, all that Messiah prophesied will come to pass. Yes, the moon landing was a sign for the whole human race, and it has been followed by many other feats in space that signal that mankind has entered the final generation.

Mankind's space events have become so frequent and varied that most of us today have only a vague idea of the full scope of what is being done. For example, did you know that just yesterday (Dec 5, 2020) Japan made history, completing the amazing mission shown in the image below?

Is Japan's Hayabusa2 mission a sign of the last days? I think all of these amazing space feats are part of the sign, since man's conquest of space is part of the prophesied end time scenario. The Last Days end with the Great and Terrible Day of the LORD, when He will execute His judgment upon the wicked. YHWH foresaw the human conquest of space, so gave this warning to the wicked, saying even those who flee into space will not escape on the final day of His wrath! He said:

"Though they ascend into heaven, From there will I bring them down." Amos 9:2

While human space exploits are indeed part of the signs of the times, these are not the only "signs in the sun, moon, and stars." The Creator has signs of His own that He has been displaying upon His great canvas in the heavens. Those signs are especially for His servants, and can only be discerned by them.
