From Eliyahu
Consider this:
Personal salvation is
available to everybody through Yeshua Messiah, by grace through faith. Since
it is personal, it is between you and Him. Where you go for fellowship is
secondary, so far as your personal salvation is concerned. Many religious
bodies would like you to think you must go through them for salvation.
However, the Scriptures make it very clear that salvation is through
Messiah, and through Messiah alone. Every believer should know this, because
it is attested by popular Bible verses such as these:
"For God so loved the
world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him
should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16 NKJV
"For there is one God
and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself
a ransom for all" 1 Timothy 2:5-6 NKJV
Since this is true, does
that mean it really doesn't matter where you associate for fellowship and
teaching? If all that matters to you is your own personal salvation than it
might seem so. However, there is another factor that must be considered.
That factor is: the Will of God for you. Sadly, most believers behave as if
they care a lot more about their own personal salvation, and what they can
get from that, than they care about the will of God. Yet, doing the will of
God is connected with salvation, in Scripture. For example, we have these
verses:
[Messiah speaking]
"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of
heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven."
Matthew 7:21 NKJV
For you have need of
endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the
promise. Hebrews 10:36 NKJV
And the world
is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides
forever. 1 John 2:17 NKJV
These verses, and others
like them, indicate that the will of God should rightly be the first concern
of every believer. Really, every consequential decision a believer makes
should be driven by the Fathers will for him/her - and that definitely
includes ones spiritual affiliations. Yet, most believers continue to select
their place of spiritual affiliation the same way they shop for everything
else - according to popularity, comfort, and feel-good emotions.
This helps to explain
how millions of believers down through time, though saved, have been held
captive by the false religion system collectively known in Scripture as
"Babylon the Great." Many millions have received salvation through Messiah,
only to affiliate with a counterfeit religious organization. Of course, such
affiliation has been devastating in many ways for those who have thus become
religious captives.
This is where a review
of the early history of the Messiah movement can be very liberating. That's
because this captivity to Babylon of which I speak started early, in fact,
in the 2nd Century. This is why the Church of history is so different in
character from the Assembly of the New Testament. If you truly want to be
set free from Babylon, you need to learn about, and grasp the implications
of, the Great Gentile Schism. You can do that at
