Consider this:

 

There is evil in the world, and its looking for you. Scripture says:

"Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." 1 Peter 5:8

What a powerful word picture! A lion looking for a victim WILL find one! The devil is just like that, and he is eating people up every minute, and looking for more. "Be watchful" of that, the Scripture says, so the next victim will not be you. This verse very succinctly sums up the Biblical teaching on evil, which in a nutshell is this:

• Evil originates in the devil. The devil is real and so is evil.

• This means there is an evil intelligence behind the evil in the world.

• The devil with his evil intent is "your adversary" seeking to devour you.

• You must be engaged against evil or the devil will gobble you up!

Some faithless people respond to this by saying; "How could one being, the devil, be doing all of that evil to the whole world, all at the time? That has to be just a myth." With this stupid claim such a person has just failed the simple test of basic Bible knowledge.

 

The Bible doesn't say the devil is perpetrating a whole world of evil all by himself. Far from it. The Bible reveals that the devil controls a vast organization of invisible spirits, like himself, commonly called demons. This word originates from the Greek word  daimonion and simply means "a daemonic being; by extension a deity: - devil, god." This term applies to rebel spirits who have set themselves up as rival gods against the rightful God who created the universe. Only in the pages of Holy Scripture are our eyes opened to the vast organized levels of evil spirits arrayed against us, under the command of the devil:

"Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." Ephesians 6:11-12

Notice that those who are loyal to the Creator are in a war against the organized columns of evil spirits in which we must "stand against the wiles of the devil."  Thayer's Greek Dictionary tells us the word wiles is translated from the Greek word  methodeia. The English word method is related to this same word. This Greek word means; "cunning arts, deceit, craft, trickery".

 

These powerfully deceptive methods and demonic plots are formed and perpetrated by Principalities, Powers and World Rulers which are "spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."   

 

Get the picture? This is a vast organized conspiracy against God, against humanity and very specifically, against you.

This war between the forces of righteousness and the forces of wickedness in the heavenly places is very real, and has been going on for millennia. As we see in the case of Daniel depicted above, while the war is fought in the spirit realms, the object of the war is right here on earth. Humans are the object.  

 

As with the case of 'the prince of Persia' of Daniel 10, there are spirit rulers over all of the kingdoms of this world. Indeed, the devil has been very successful in recruiting humans over to his side, with the vast majority of humanity controlled by his 'wiles' -  "cunning arts, deceit, craft, trickery". Further, the devil's human organization, under the wicked spirit forces, are experts at using the deceitful methods of their spirit masters. In fact, through use of the devil's 'wiles' the whole world is under the devil's power! That is, the 'whole world' except for the much smaller number who have given their lives over to the God and Father of our Lord, Yeshua Messiah. Here is how the Bible expresses this:  

"We know that we are of Elohim, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. We know that the Son of Elohim has come, and has given us an understanding, that we know him who is true, and we are in him who is true, in his Son Yeshua the Messiah. This is the true Elohim, and eternal life. Little children, keep yourselves from idols." 1 John 5:19-21

Friends, we must realize that the devil wants to ensnare us, if we will let him. A principle method he uses to ensnare people is through the use of idols. Don't make the mistake of thinking you are not vulnerable to that. The Scripture would not be warning us about idols if that was easy for us to deal with. In fact, right now, the devil is reaching out toward you, via the internet, to suck you in and destroy you.

 

Tonight's meeting video will point out specific demonic traps you may encounter on the internet, that are designed to fool you and draw you in to the devil's kingdom before you even realize what's happening! The devil loves the internet, because of its amazing reach right in to your personal space between your ears.
