From Eliyahu
Consider this:
Bad news. On any given day there is far more
bad news out there than any given person can even consider. Nobody likes it,
but it is a fact of life in this world. Fortunately, much of that bad news
does not directly involve the person hearing it, so they can tune it out as
irrelevant to themselves. A lot of people do that and just focus on their
own lives.
That's understandable, except for those
moments when the bad news does involve you, and you need to know the bad
news because your own life IS involved in the outcome. This brings to mind
the recent freeze across America in which ignoring weather news became
lethal. The Daily Mail tells the story, with this headline:
"Death toll from America's big freeze rises to 57: Stranded drivers freeze
to death in cars".
While not blaming the victims of the storm, we
should note that warning news was given. For example, in New York State, the
hardest hit by the storm, this notice was broadcast to the public in advance
of the storm:
"NY under state of emergency ahead
of intense winter storm The entire state is under a state of
emergency ahead of the significant snowstorm moving across New York
through the holiday weekend. Gov. Kathy Hochul declared the state of
emergency late Thursday. It continues through Monday. ..."With Mother
Nature throwing everything she has at us this weekend, I encourage New
Yorkers who are considering traveling for the holidays to do so before
Friday or after Sunday to stay safe," Hochul said." - Spectrum News 1
In cases like that the normal human aversion
to hearing bad news can make the effect of the bad news even worse, if that
aversion causes listeners to just tune that bad news out. In that
case, you need to hear the bad news in advance, uncomfortable or
inconvenient as that may be, to stay out of harm's way. Unfortunately,
sometimes even believers tend to make the mistake of pushing away vital
knowledge they need because they just don't want to hear it. "My people are
destroyed for lack of knowledge" says the Scripture. And so it is. (Hosea
4:6)

So, what's my point?
The point is: bad news
is good news, if by heeding it and acting accordingly you can improve or
even save your own life. Certainly, I would like people to keep this in mind
as they consider the message of Tsiyon. While we present a lot of good news
from Scripture, we also do not hold back giving you the bad news of what is
happening in the world and where, according to Bible prophecy and the facts
on the ground, this world is headed. We are not just trying to be negative,
or sensational. What we are doing by giving you the bad news forecast of
Scripture for our time, is to give you vital knowledge of what is coming so
that you can make the best decisions for your future. This is for you, not
against you, if you benefit yourself from it.
We learned this from
YHWH Himself. We see this, for example, in Deuteronomy 31. In that chapter
YHWH gives Moses, and all Israel, the bad news regarding their future. Make
no mistake. The news that He presents, while including some positive
elements, is bleak. YHWH could see in advance that His nation would
eventually leave his covenant and sink into an apostasy so deep and dark
that YHWH would be forced to drive them out of their land, where they would
be scattered throughout all the nations.
Further, he was giving
them this bad news just as they were about to enter into the land, to take
it. That's right, YHWH was telling them their nation would eventually be
driven out of the land - before they had even lived in it! From one
perspective, this news at this time seems counterproductive, since it could
be seen as discouraging them from the war. However, it is so like YHWH to
simply tell us the whole unvarnished truth. Truth is his nature, and it
should be ours as well.
Why did He tell the
whole sad story as part of the Torah? He did it for His remnant in the final
days! This is where the good news comes in, and this is why you should join
us for our meeting tonight, as we consider Deuteronomy 31. As always, our Tsiyon meeting tonight
is
at Tsiyon.Net
at 8 PM, CST. There is a lot of bad news in this chapter of the Torah. Hear
it. Take it to heart, and turn it into good news for your life.
Blessings and good health to you,
Eliyahu

We have cancelled our streaming
provider due to recent poor service. Therefore, we are providing tonight's video
on demand at the same time and place as usual, which should eliminate the
streaming problems we have had of late. We will be continuing this for our
meetings for a few weeks, until we can get a tested and reliable streaming
service up and running on our system.
