Consider this:
As I sit here writing my first newsletter of
this 12th month of this Shmita year I'm asking myself; "what is the best
word describing the year we are now so close to completing? I don't even
finish the question in my head before the answer immediately pops up. The
word "change" has to be the answer. In fact, that word well describes the
world we have been coping with for some years now. The world is now changing
at an exponential rate, making it impossible for any one person to keep up
with it all, with no end to the blurring rate of change in sight. The effect
of such prodigious change on individuals and human society as a whole has
been described as "future shock."
Future Shock - the perfect term for this
experience of rapid change. You may already be familiar with the term, or
you may be curious about where the term originated. Wikipedia
explains:
Future Shock is a 1970 book by
American futurist Alvin Toffler, written together with his spouse
Adelaide Farrell, in which the authors define the term "future shock" as
a certain psychological state of individuals and entire societies. The
shortest definition for the term in the book is a personal perception of
"too much change in too short a period of time". The book, which became
an international bestseller, has sold over 6 million copies and has been
widely translated. - Wikipedia
You might be thinking that 1970 seems quite
early for this term to have emerged. Actually, the term itself was coined
even earlier, in the 60s, by Toffler and a colleague, but only became famous
when Toffler wrote his book about it. Realize that people were already
suffering from future shock in the 60s and 70s, and we thought that was bad.
That was child's play compared to the rate of change now. Here's some more,
describing the problem of future shock:
Alvin Toffler argued that society is
undergoing an enormous structural change, a revolution from an
industrial society to a "super-industrial society". This change
overwhelms people. He argues that the accelerated rate of technological
and social change leaves people disconnected and suffering from
"shattering stress and disorientation"—future shocked. Toffler stated
that the majority of social problems are symptoms of future shock. In
his discussion of the components of such shock he popularized the term
"information overload." - Wikipedia
Now, information overload is such a
ubiquitous experience that TMI (too much information) is a common cell phone
texting term. |
 
"Shattering stress and
disorientation" throughout society makes people very vulnerable to the mass
mind-control of the "Great Reset." The elites want to reset your brain to
make you over in their image. This is working with a lot of people, since
there is too much information for them to process on their own. Independent
thinking and decision-making is stymied by TMI, so the mind then looks
outward for direction to the prevailing authorities and voices of the world.
This is where the
Scriptures come in, because they are filled with truth and if you follow
them you will preserve your sound mind. Of course, this is why the elites
hate the Bible, and the Bible's morality. It is the only real antidote to
Future Shock, and more especially, to their mass mind-control.
I said all of that to
say this: over the next 7 years the acceleration of crazy events, and
therefore of Future Shock and mind-control will far surpass anything we or
this world have ever experienced. While surprises in this scenario are
certain to happen, Bible prophecy and real facts on the ground make it
possible for us to know a lot about this upcoming period in advance. That is
what I am focusing on during this 12th month. I want to make sense of the
major trends and events that got us here, as well as share what I know from
Scripture about what will be coming up over this next 7 year period. I
believe having this Biblical picture of reality can counter the
brain-numbing TMI that the devil and his little helpers have in mind for the
world during this up-coming period. That's why I'm wanting to share all of
this with you now.
With so much going on in
the world around us, it is easy to miss all that is going on in the heavens.
