Consider this:

 

A 2022 scientific poll reports that 39% of Americans believe "we are living in the end times." That's 4 of every 10 people - and those are random people (not necessarily religious). Under the category of Christians, 76% of adherents of the historically Black Protestant tradition and 63% of evangelical Protestants said they believe humanity is living in the end times. These figures are derived from a Pew Research Center scientifically conducted poll released in April 2022, entitled "How Religion Intersects With Americans' Views on the Environment."

 

These are stunningly high percentages of the population professing belief that these are the end times. This begs the question; Why do so many people today believe "we are living in the end times"?

 

Here is one politically correct opinion stated by Wikipedia:

"According to psychologists, possible explanations for why people believe in modern apocalyptic predictions include mentally reducing the actual danger in the world to a single and definable source, an innate human fascination with fear, personality traits of paranoia and powerlessness and a modern romanticism involved with end-times due to its portrayal in contemporary fiction. The prevalence of Abrahamic religions throughout modern history is said to have created a culture which encourages the embracement of a future that will be drastically different from the present."

So they are saying that 40% of Americans are suffering from paranoia, which is defined as: "mental illness characterized by systematized delusions of persecution or grandeur usually without hallucinations." - Merriam-Webster.com Dictionary

 

Can you see where this line of thought is going? They are saying, if you believe these are the end times then you are mentally ill - crazy. Given the high percentage of the population that believes these are the end times, who are also willing to say so, perhaps it would be prudent to look for a better explanation than mental illness. Just maybe, when so many people are seeing smoke, we ought to allow for the possibility that there just might be fire.

 

And here's something else:

Here is an announcement from the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists:

2023 Doomsday Clock Announcement - January 24, 2023 - This year, the Science and Security Board of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists moves the hands of the Doomsday Clock forward, largely (though not exclusively) because of the mounting dangers of the war in Ukraine. The Clock now stands at 90 seconds to midnight—the closest to global catastrophe it has ever been. - thebulletin.org/doomsday-clock

I suppose the atomic scientists are all suffering from paranoia too? Or could it be they are seeing the world actually in danger of destruction (just as the Bible says it is during the End Times)? One verse that comes to mind as I look at the Doomsday Clock is this one:

"Unless those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved. But for the sake of the chosen ones, those days will be shortened." Matthew 24:22

If anything, the atomic scientist's Doomsday Clock is evidence that there is fire to go with that smoke! There is evidence in this world, and lots of it, that these are indeed the End Times. It doesn't take an atomic scientist to see this. Many millions of ordinary people can easily see the signs all around us that these are indeed the Last Days. At this point, there are so many existential threats facing mankind, most of them from this world itself, that doom is certain, save for the intervention of the Most High.

 

Actually, at this point so much of the prophetic picture has been filled in by events in the real world that it is possible for us to know where we are right now on the final generation timeline. We are, in fact, one 7 year cycle away from the start of the 7 year Great Tribulation. The 7 year cycle that begins the day after this Sabbath offers each of us the opportunity to re-position ourselves spiritually and physically as needed in preparation for the momentous events ahead, some during this up-coming 7 years, and then beyond,  for the Great Tribulation itself. Acting in advance is crucial, to be in the right place at the right time, doing the right thing. Frankly, foretold events during this up-coming period, unfortunately, include a lot of death. The choices we make, or fail to make, now, could determine our very survival.

 

Unto The Great Tribulation is the title of my message tonight. This will set out end time events in chronological order now, through the next 7 years, to the Great Tribulation. Hopefully, this will help each of us to clarify our focus, to be ready at each stage to act, and to act quickly, as events will be intensifying and moving fast through the prophetic period just ahead.
