From Eliyahu
Consider this:
We are introducing
something new from Tsiyon which we are calling "Yeshua's Narrow Way". I'm
very excited about the opportunities this will open up. Now, here is why we
need to do this.
Most of the folks that
come our way were introduced to Jesus as seen through the lens of the
Christian Church. Eventually they find their way to Tsiyon because they
intuitively feel there is more to Jesus than the Church has given them. I am
not criticizing Christians here. In fact, I am saying that the Church has
done a good job in raising public awareness about Jesus. Beyond that, the
Church has brought millions of people to the point of confessing faith in
Him. So doing, they have brought millions to the Door, the Gate to
life. Consider here what
Yeshua (the authentic Hebrew "Jesus") said:
"Straight is the gate, and narrow is
the way, which leads to life, and few there be who find it."
Matthew 7:14
As you read those words, did you notice that
what Yeshua said is not exactly the same as what many have thought?
"Straight is the Gate...that leads to life" has been the message of many
churches. This amounts to saying that you can only enter into life through
faith in Jesus. This is entering the Gate to life. No problem there.
While that is right, many Christians say the
"sinners prayer" and think they now are "saved" - so can essentially
continue on with the life they want to live. That is often reinforced by the
Church constantly rehashing the same salvation message over and over again,
with little real meat beyond that. Because of this, many know the Gate, but
they don't really know the Way. Going through a gate is a momentary act,
like the sinner's prayer. Walking a way is something entirely different, and
far more rigorous.
Passing through a gate is not an end in
itself. The purpose of passing through a gate is to access the path that
will take you to your destination. Yeshua's narrow way to life is the Way
one must walk after passing through the Gate to eventually arrive at
Eternal Life. As with any way/road, it is entirely possible to be drawn off
into another way that will take you someplace else. This is especially true
since the way to life is a "narrow way", a constricted way, that does not
allow for joining the majority on the "broad way" to destruction.
Unfortunately, if one knows the Gate but not the Way, they may easily be
drawn off onto the "broad way" that leads to destruction. If you have any
doubt in what I am saying, consider these shocking words of Yeshua:
"Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord,
Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will
of my Father who is in heaven. Many will tell me in that day, ‘Lord,
Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and
in your name do many mighty works?’ Then I will tell them, ‘I never knew
you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity.’" Matthew 7:21-23
Because the false Church doesn't focus on the
Way, they think they can change the world/culture (the broad way) but
instead, the world/culture keeps changing them. If they knew the Way, they
would know the folly of that approach. Is it any wonder sincere believers
often develop an intuitive sense that the false Church is not getting them
where they need to go? As Yeshua said:
“ Leave them alone. They are blind guides
of the blind. If the blind guide the blind, both will fall into a pit.”
Matthew 15:13-14
Some sincere Christians get to a place where
they do exactly what Yeshua is saying here - they leave the blind guides
behind and venture forward looking for something real. They are seeking a
more meaningful connection with the Lord. They may not know it, but what
they are really looking for is Yeshua's Narrow Way.
Frankly, here at Tsiyon we've got that, and we
want to share it.
