Let’s talk about the book, Why Men Rule: A Theory of Male Dominance by Steven Goldberg. I admit, that title is a bit off-putting these days, but probably less so than his earlier book, The Inevitability of Patriarchy. I should hasten to add, these books by Goldberg are scientific books with no interest in politically correct speech – just the scientific facts.

Steven Goldberg, the author, has academic qualifications that include a Ph.D. in sociology. He earned his bachelor's degree from Ricker College in 1965, his M.A. from the University of New Brunswick/University of Toronto in 1965/1967–1969, and his Ph.D. from the Graduate School and University Center of the City University of New York in 1977–1978. These qualifications provided him with a background in the social sciences, which is relevant to the topics he discusses in his book.
Goldberg's book employs a multidisciplinary approach to support its thesis. The scientific disciplines referenced in the book include:

1. Anthropology: Examining patterns of behavior across different cultures and societies.
2. Psychology: Studying the psychological aspects of human behavior and dominance tendencies.
3. Endocrinology: Investigating the role of hormones, particularly testosterone, in influencing behavior.
4. Sociology: Analyzing social structures and institutions, such as patriarchy and male attainment.

Why Men Rule delves into the topic of male dominance in societies, which Goldberg argues is a universal institution observed across all known cultures. He makes the claim that virtually all human societies of all time have been patriarchies. He proposes that this pattern may be explained by biological differences between men and women, particularly focusing on the role of testosterone and other psychophysiological factors. He argues that social institutions characterized by male dominance may be explained by natural biological differences between men and women, making patriarchy inevitable.

 

I’ve read the book, years ago actually, and consider its scientific basis in facts to be unassailable – which is probably why the book is usually either censored or attacked. Critics generally do not even try to deal with the specific facts laid out in the book supporting Goldberg’s arguments. Instead, critics use feminist buzz terms like inequality, exploitation, abuse, toxic masculinity, and the like.

Do such behaviors exist? I’m sure Steven Goldberg would readily agree that these deviations from healthy behavior sometimes do occur. However, the natural relationship between men and women supported by the facts of his book does not rely upon any of that deviant behavior.

 

The argument of the critics is similar to saying that no one should drive a car because some people are bad drivers. Yes, there are risks in life. That is just reality. Make good decisions and usually you will be fine.

 

Bottom line: Goldberg's book reminds us that, once again, real science agrees with nature, which agrees with the Creator of nature, which agrees with His Word. Here is where it all began:

YHWH Elohim said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.” YHWH Elohim caused a deep sleep to fall on the man, and he slept; and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. He made the rib, which YHWH Elohim had taken from the man, into a woman, and brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh. She will be called ‘woman,’ because she was taken out of Man.” Genesis 2:18, 21-23

Friends, we are living in a world that seems bent on defying nature as God created it. This is rebellion, so leads to misery, frustration, and failure. While the world keeps pushing against God it is up to us to submit ourselves to our Creator and His ways. This requires us to disconnect from the rhetoric and propaganda of the world, and to trust our Father and His Word by actualizing it in our lives. Men, feminism not only demonizes you, it also lets you off the hook from being the loving leader you are meant to be. Don't take that easy way out because it is a lie and a snare. Nature says you need to rise up as a man in the image of God and take dominion in this world in His Name! Get to it, and you will be blessed.
