a big deception

From Eliyahu

Has science given us evidence of alien life on other planets?

This article from Reuters is typical of the headlines that have been repeated by virtually all major news outlets this month. The headline reads:

“Scientists find strongest evidence yet of life on an alien planet.”  (Reuters.com April 17, 2025)

There it is – we have scientific proof that life exists on other planets – only, we don’t.

Yes, when you read the headline it seems to be saying we have scientific evidence of life on an alien planet. That headline is enough for most people to believe life has been identified on another planet – so they don’t even need to read the rest of the article.

Many will think:

“It’s probably filled with a bunch of scientific jargon anyway, and who wants to wade through that? Anyway, if the scientists say so, then it must be true, and that’s good enough for me.”

The problem is, the article itself leaves considerable doubt that the headline is true, once you get past the big brainwash moment. Their summary (almost) tells the story:

Reuters Summary:

  • Planet, called K2-18 b, is 8.6 times the mass of Earth

  • It is located about 124 light-years from Earth

  • Gases found are the same as those produced by algae on Earth

  • Scientists do not announce discovery of actual alien life

Notice the final point. “Scientists do not announce discovery of actual alien life.” So, even though the news media headlines seem to be announcing “strongest evidence yet of alien life” scientists aren’t actually announcing that they have found alien life. The headline and article is doublespeak. Two different messages are being conveyed at the same time.

The headline definitely suggests alien life is out there. Especially when you realize this message has been conveyed in essentially the same way, in the same words, you begin to see that the news media is doing what they so often do – rather than just reporting the news they are attempting to mass control the public psyche. In this case, to reinforce belief in evolutionary theory by propping up the fiction that life naturally occurs on a distant alien planet. It doesn’t.

By the way, it’s not just the headline that is a deception. Here is the central deceptive claim it makes: In the summary it says “Gases found are the same as those produced by algae on Earth.” This is a logical fallacy that is very persuasive to some, making an unfounded claim as if it is fact. In the article itself it says:

“..scientists using the James Webb Space Telescope have obtained what they call the strongest signs yet of possible life beyond our solar system, detecting in an alien planet's atmosphere the chemical fingerprints of gases that on Earth are produced only by biological processes. The two gases - dimethyl sulfide, or DMS, and dimethyl disulfide, or DMDS - involved in Webb's observations of the planet named K2-18 b are generated on Earth by living organisms, primarily microbial life such as marine phytoplankton - algae.”

'The James Webb Space Telescope [JWST] can’t be wrong! It’s science after all and science is always right!' That being the assumption, the article states with assumed scientific authority that the two gasses, DMS and DMDS, “chemical fingerprints of gases that on Earth are produced only by biological processes” were detected “in an alien planet's atmosphere.”

Even if it is the JWST I was skeptical. The ‘planet’ we are talking about is called K2-18b and it is reported to be 729.12 trillion miles away. The JWST cannot actually see the planet at that distance as anything we humans would recognize as a planet. All of the pictures NASA publishes of these distant space objects are not photos. They all come out of the imaginations of human artists.

In reality, the only indication a planet may be there is a sort of cosmic shadow produced as it passes in front of its star. Yet, we are told that JWST can analyze an atmosphere of that shadow at that incredible distance and detect its chemical makeup? To me, that’s magic not science.

In reality, the JWST collects light and radiation data from the readings it takes, then that data must be interpreted by human beings of the sort we generally call scientists. Human beings are often wrong, including scientists. In this case, there is a lot of disagreement among scientists about what the data actually means – but I will get to that in a moment.

All of this being so, I turned to AI (deepai.org) for a quick answer to this prompt:

“Could the atmospheric reading of K2-18b be flawed?”

exoplanet dataNot a photo

Definition: An "exoplanet" is a celestial object not in Earth's solar system believed to be a planet.

Here is the answer to my prompt I got from deepai:

Yes, the atmospheric readings of K2-18b, like those of any exoplanet, could potentially be flawed or inaccurate for several reasons:

1. **Data Interpretation**: The analysis of data from telescopes and spacecraft can be complex. Different models or assumptions can lead to varying interpretations of the same data, which may result in inconsistent conclusions.

2. **Instrument Limitations**: The instruments used to gather data—such as space telescopes—may have limitations in sensitivity, resolution, or calibration that can affect the accuracy of the measurements. Instrument noise and calibration errors can introduce uncertainties in the data.

3. **Spectral Contamination**: The presence of other celestial bodies or background sources in the observation could lead to contamination of the light spectrum being analyzed, complicating efforts to isolate the atmospheric signals from the planet.

4. **Atmospheric Variability**: The atmosphere of K2-18b may have varied compositions or unstable conditions that can change over time. A snapshot of atmospheric data might not represent its typical state, making it difficult to draw definitive conclusions.

5. **Model Assumptions**: The theoretical models used to simulate atmospheric conditions may be based on assumptions that do not accurately reflect reality. This can lead to discrepancies between observed and predicted atmospheric parameters.

6. **Limitations of Current Technology**: Current technology may not be able to detect all types of gases or characteristics within the atmosphere, potentially leading to incomplete or skewed data. For example, certain molecules may be too faint to identify or may require more advanced observational techniques.

Due to these factors, scientists often exercise caution when interpreting exoplanetary atmospheric readings and look for additional observations or corroborating data to support their findings. This ongoing research aims to refine our understanding of atmospheres on exoplanets like K2-18b.

Considering all of these factors, how much stock should we give these ‘conclusions’ about a planet we can’t even see, let alone visit, to take actual samples, measurements and other hard proof? We won’t be doing that because even if we could travel at the speed of light it would take generations before our fictional light-speed spaceship could ever even arrive at K2-18b! In other words, the conclusions cannot be adequately tested in reality, so are proof of absolutely nothing. That is why “Scientists do not announce discovery of actual alien life.”

Above I mentioned there is a lot of disagreement among scientists about what the K2-18b data actually means. You have to dig a bit to get to this controversy, if you want to know what the various scientific positions and arguments are. I did that, and my favorite article exploring this is here: https://arstechnica.com/science/2025/04/skepticism-greets-claims-of-a-possible-biosignature-on-a-distant-world/

In reality, the atmospheric profile (if real) can be interpreted in multiple ways. I think it’s fair to say the evolutionists want it to be a water world with a temperate climate that could support life, because this most closely fits their claims of how life originates and progresses through ‘evolution’ – even though this has never been observed. They desperately need a world like this to prove their evolution theory, because every attempt to do so has failed. Can they turn K2-18b into such a world? A lot of them are trying to do so.

More rational minds in the scientific community are pointing out other possibilities that seem more likely. One big contender is too hot for life – a lava world. Other sorts of hostile-to-life worlds are also said to fit the profile. In short, like so many other failed attempts to ‘prove’ spontaneous generation of life, this K2-18b claim of alien life is yet one more nothingburger.

Why publish a nothingburger? The K2-18b story may have been put out there to distract from the bigger discovery of JWST that is such an embarrassment to NASA and the scientific community generally. Namely, that the universe does not fit the ‘standard model’ of the Big Bang that they have been assuming to be true ever since Albert Einstein. Essentially, what JWST has revealed is that everything about the origin of the universe they thought they knew and have been pushing on the rest of us for decades is wrong.

In fact, all of the pillars of evolutionary pseudo-science are caving in as modern technology improves in its ability to explore the micro and the macro Creation. On the micro level DNA and the science of genetics indicates that life apart from intelligent design is impossible. The details now being uncovered by true science are revealing design by the Creator, and the evolutionists are freaking out. Why should any of us trust them?

We CAN trust Him – our Creator. The science of archaeology is giving a lot of support to that fact these days. Archaeology allows us to do something we can never do to confirm conclusions based on JWST – that is, visit actual sites and dig up real stuff. Literally mountains of evidence have been dug up of people, places, things and events once recorded only in the Bible, but now proven to be true in actual reality. Do you want the stability in your life that is lacking in this world? Know God and stand on His Word as truth. All His ways are perfect, so you can’t go wrong with that.

Yes, it makes a lot of sense to turn to the Word of Truth in this time of unprecedented deception. While I like to keep an eye on where the world is going, as in my comments above, my goal is always to know and teach His truth. That's what we do here at Tsiyon. For example, tonight on our live stream we have a panel discussion by some of the outstanding women here at Tsiyon, discussing how Scripture fits into their lives in a practical way. Everyone is invited to stream this insightful panel discussion that is sure to bless your life. This discussion will be streamed from our member website at Tsiyon.Net, at 8 PM Central, and other streaming platforms.
