Fear of uncertainty and emotional resistance are also powerful forces that can fuel rejection of life-changing truth. New realities are often a harbinger of coming change. Change inherently brings with it uncertainty. For many, this uncertainty can be disturbing - triggering anxiety, stress, and even existential fear. Stepping into a realm of unpredictable outcomes, and the emotional discomfort associated with leaving a safe, familiar framework can inhibit acceptance of the truth.

This fear is compounded by the potential for perceived personal or economic loss, which further reinforces resistance. Consider the truth German Jews were facing as Hitler’s hate campaign took root and began to grow. Those Jews who objectively accepted the truth of where that hatred was all heading got out early, and avoided the train rides to the concentration camps. Recognizing the truth for what it is, and acting on it is an essential survival skill.

That is just a very brief overview of a few reasons among many that the majority of people would rather reject the truth than accept the change it might bring into their lives.

However, there is one more reason I must mention that people reject the truth. It is the problem of deception, deliberate deception. Deliberate deception is less about the occasional falsehood and more about influential people constructing false perceptions that benefit a powerful group or individual. In plain language this is called a conspiracy. Conspiracies are far more common in history than many naively think. They have been very common and are more common than ever in the modern era.

Political and government deception is a time-worn strategy that has many contemporary and historical expressions. Politicians and political groups might disseminate misinformation, cherry-pick data, or stage events to create narratives that serve specific agendas. Propaganda is a typical example, where selective facts, exaggerations, or outright falsehoods are projected to foster support, demonize opponents, or divert attention from controversial issues. In some cases, state-sponsored efforts ensure that a consistent narrative sticks even if it diverges from objective evidence. The deliberate distortion of facts in politics is a tool designed to shape public opinion, influence voting behavior, and maintain power, often by exploiting existing biases and emotions among the electorate.

History reveals recurring instances where those in power resorted to carefully planned strategies to control narratives or obscure unpleasant truths. Such conspiracies typically arise in environments where control over information translates directly into political, economic, or social power. Here are three examples that are well documented and are known to be real:

COINTELPRO: The FBI’s Counter Intelligence Program, active from the 1950s through the 1970s, was a covert operation aimed at surveilling, infiltrating, and disrupting political organizations deemed subversive - ranging from civil rights groups to anti-war activists. For decades, the program operated in secrecy until investigations and leaked documents revealed its pervasive efforts to manipulate and undermine various political movements, proving how systematic deception can be used to stifle dissent.

MK-Ultra: MK-Ultra was a clandestine program run by the CIA during the Cold War that experimented with mind control techniques, including administering LSD and other substances to unwitting participants. Well known universities, psychiatric associations and other bastions of society were involved in this horrific program. The project’s unethical practices were hidden for years and only emerged through declassified documents and investigations, illustrating how deeply secretive operations can and are orchestrated.

Operation Northwoods (Military Strategy Proposal): Devised in 1962 by U.S. Department of Defense officials, Operation Northwoods was a plan that proposed staging false flag acts - such as orchestrating terrorist attacks - on U.S. soil to create a pretext for military intervention against Cuba. Although the plan was said to be never approved or executed, its existence (revealed through declassified documents) shows how extreme measures were considered and underscores the potential for systematic deception at high government levels by government agencies and individuals.

Other more recent and arguably more extreme examples have been on-going for some time and remain cloaked and contested. Perhaps if you think about the history of the 21^st century so far you will see some of the smoke that continues to rise from some of those deceptive fires. Be aware.

This is no less true with religion. It is not unknown for some religious leaders or institutions to selectively interpret or even fabricate events, miracles, or prophecies for personal gain. Scripture quoted completely out of context is often used to deceive the ignorant. A word to the wise: If someone with three jets and a palatial ‘parsonage’ tells you that by giving huge sums to him you will likewise become a multi-millionaire you should assume you are being scammed.

Only deception of the most potent kind could bring us to a world where wrong is right, where mutilation of children is protected by law, and people are fired from their jobs on a mass scale because they insist on exercising control over their own medical care. Mass mind control through the use of the technology we all use and live with every day is a reality that affects us all. It is a huge reason people reject the truth.

Here I could write extensively about the quickly growing specter of AI (artificial intelligence) which is now 30 to 50 years ahead of where it was previously expected to be at this time. Already it is being used to control information on a massive scale, and this control is so extensive and so powerful that those who control AI will soon be able to totally control the world's information channels, deciding for all of us what is 'true' or not. All other opinions will be drowned out. This is already much further ahead than most of us can possibly imagine.

How do you fight the amazing amount of pressure telling you to reject the truth?

Awareness is vital, objective logic is vital, but more importantly, prayer is vital, constantly. And of course, immersing yourself in a study of His Word.

“Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:2)
