From Eliyahu

YHWH Orchestrated The Victory

In June 1967, Israel stood on the brink of annihilation. Surrounded by hostile nations—Egypt, Syria, Jordan, and Iraq—the odds were overwhelming. The Arab coalition fielded over 547,000 troops, 2,500 tanks, and 957 aircraft, while Israel had just 264,000 soldiers, 800 tanks, and 300 aircraft. Leaders prepared 40,000 coffins, anticipating mass casualties.

Yet in just six days, Israel achieved one of the most stunning victories in military history. This was not merely a triumph of strategy—it was a testimony to divine providence, wherein the right people were in the right roles at the right time.

The Right Men in the Right Place

Israel's leaders in the Six Day War each played a critical role in Israel's victory. This was no accident. These men were in place by Divine Providence.

Moshe Dayan – Minister of Defense

Appointed just days before the war, Dayan authorized Operation Focus, a preemptive airstrike that destroyed most of Egypt’s air force on the ground. His boldness and timing gave Israel immediate air superiority.

Yitzhak Rabin – Chief of Staff

Rabin had spent years preparing the IDF for multi-front warfare. Despite suffering a nervous breakdown from the pressure, he remained in command, coordinating Israel’s rapid mobilization and tactical precision.

Mordechai Hod – Commander of the Israeli Air Force

Hod oversaw Operation Focus, which destroyed 452 enemy aircraft while losing only 46 Israeli planes. His meticulous planning and execution turned the tide before the ground war began.

Uzi Narkiss – Commander of Central Command

Narkiss led the paratroopers who captured East Jerusalem and the Old City on June 7. His forces reached the Western Wall, where Rabbi Shlomo Goren blew the shofar, marking a prophetic moment of restoration

Miracles in the Midst of War

Eyewitnesses and veterans recount moments that defy normal explanation - events of divine intervention:

Silent Airfields: Egyptian bases failed to warn each other of incoming attacks. Jordan’s warning was missed due to a last-minute code change.

Battle of Shechem: Israeli forces were mistaken for Iraqi reinforcements and welcomed by heavily armed Arabs who surrendered without resistance.

Golan Heights Retreat: Syrian troops fled in chaos, abandoning weapons. Some claimed to see visions of Abraham warning them not to harm the Jews.

The Ammunition Truck: A live grenade hit a truck full of explosives. It should have detonated—but didn’t.

Two Soldiers vs. Eighteen Egyptians: Lightly armed IDF soldiers faced a half-track full of Egyptian troops. Expecting death, they aimed—and the Egyptians surrendered without firing a shot.

These stories and many more like them, told by eyewitnesses and veterans, echo the Biblical victories of Israel from ancient times.

As Major General Ezer Weizmann said when asked how such victories were possible, he replied simply, “The finger of God.”

Spoils of Providence

“Victory belongs to YHWH” and to the victor goes the spoils. (Proverbs 21:31)

Look at these gains for Israel.

In six days, Israel quadrupled its territory:

Sinai Peninsula and Gaza Strip from Egypt
West Bank and East Jerusalem from Jordan
Golan Heights from Syria

These gains provided strategic depth, Jerusalem access, and national morale. Jerusalem was no longer divided—it was whole. The Western Wall was once again in Jewish hands.

The Prophetic Word Came True
How amazing that Yeshua, 2,000 years ago, prophesied the loss of Jerusalem from the Jews, as well as its eventual liberation by them. He said:

"But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then recognize that her desolation is near … then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains … because these are days of vengeance, so that all things which are written will be fulfilled … they will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations; and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.” (Luke 21:20-24)

In 1967 the “times of the Gentiles were fulfilled” and Jerusalem was restored to the Jews, just as the prophecy of Yeshua indicates it would be. The Six Day War was how that return of Jerusalem to Jewish hands happened, starting the End-Time clock on this final generation.

YHWH Governs History

The Six-Day War is a vivid reminder that YHWH governs history to conform to His Great Plan. When the odds were impossible, He raised up leaders, stirred courage, and intervened in ways that still defy explanation.

Remember his marvelous works that he has done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth, you seed of Abraham, his servant, you children of Jacob, his chosen ones. He is YHWH, our Elohim! His judgments are in all the earth. He has remembered his covenant forever” (Psalms 105:5-8)

Let us remember too. For the YHWH who delivered Jerusalem in 1967 is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Just as the Jews were restored to Jerusalem in 1967, so also will a remnant of all of the Tribes of Israel be restored to the Land, as YHWH foretold through all of the prophets. This will be happening very soon. Great is our God, the Almighty, for His version of history is the one that will stand.

The Scriptures are full of men and women who were uniquely molded by YHWH for a special purpose, created for a unique moment in time. Tonight we will take a close look at just such a person. Here was another time, an earlier time, when the fate of Jerusalem and all of Israel, for that matter, was threatened with complete annihilation – to literally be “wiped off the map.” YHWH had one unique man created in advance of that day, a man who stood in the gap with a prodigious faith, to defend the Name of YHWH and to save Jerusalem from certain annihilation. Tonight we will share a special presentation, especially for our Tsiyon Members entitled: Made for the Moment.
