This evening at sundown the tenth day of
the Seventh Month on the Torah Calendar
is here! This will be the Day of
Atonement (Yom Kippur)!
Atonement Day is considered by many to
be the holiest day on the Biblical
calendar. Among other things, this is an
appropriate time
for the people of YHWH to meditate on
the perfections of YHWH in His holy
character. As we delve into His
interactions and plans with and for His
people, His great wisdom, love, justice
and almighty power come into view, and
we are awe-struck by His excellence and
majesty.
I
have personally been led to prepare a special program
for you tonight that I believe will lead
you deeply into the Mind of God on this
Atonement Day. Dawn and I will be bringing
this to you in a conversational style
with abundant graphics and visual aids,
much as we did on Yom Teruah.
Tonight’s theme for this special
presentation will be: A Just Nation.
YHWH had a plan by which He would bless
His chosen nation above all other
nations in the earth. That plan is set
out in the Torah, which lays out the
terms of His everlasting Covenant with
His nation. To receive this blessing,
however, His nation would have to abide
by that Covenant. If any generation of
His people did not abide by the terms of
the Covenant those blessings would not
be forthcoming for them. Sadly, while
there was always a faithful remnant, the
overwhelming history of Israel is the
history of lost opportunities because of
disobedience.
However, what if they had obeyed? What
would have happened then? That's what we
will be looking into tonight. Namely,
Yah's plan to bless Israel. Really, His
plan is stunning. There is a wisdom in
it that is far beyond anything any other
nation has ever even thought of - let
alone practiced. As we look at that
beautiful intention of YHWH for His
people you are sure to be moved to
worship as you come to understand more
fully what Israel could have enjoyed,
and the grandeur and genius of Yah's
plan. Since Israel did not cooperate
with Yah's plan the world has never seen
it put into action. That is why most
people have no idea what His plan was
all about or even how it worked. That's
what we will be looking into tonight.
