After Peace: Five Theories on What Prophetic Event Comes Next

There can be no doubt that the peace in the Middle East with Israel that seems to be looming just ahead is unprecedented in the modern era. Understandably, this possibility has stirred up a flurry of speculation among Bible prophecy watchers. Some see it as a divine pause before judgment, others as the beginning of the end.

Let’s walk through five popular scenarios, and expectations on what is the next big prophetic event after Middle East peace – and then talk about what all five seem to be missing. While I may not agree with some of the specifics regarding some of these scenarios, I commend everyone who is searching their Bible to understand the obvious signs of something big in Bible prophecy unfolding before our eyes.

1. “Peace and Safety”—Then Sudden Destruction

This scenario draws heavily from 1 Thessalonians 5:3, where Paul warns, “While people are saying, ‘Peace and safety,’ destruction will come on them suddenly…” The idea here is that a period of calm - perhaps brokered by international diplomacy - will lull the world into complacency. Then, like a thief in the night, judgment will strike.

A strong point for this view is that it takes seriously the prophetic warnings about false security and sudden upheaval. One problem though, is that there is a lot more to Bible prophecy than this one statement. In other words, 1 Thessalonians 5:3, while true, is not a stand-alone prophecy, but must fit in to the much larger corpus of prophecy of end times events. In other words, by itself this scenario leaves too much out to tell us what the next big prophetic fulfillment will be.

2. The Rise of the Antichrist

Rooted in Daniel 9:27, this scenario envisions a global leader who “confirms a covenant with many for one week” - interpreted as seven years. Many believe this leader will emerge after a major peace deal, presenting himself as a friend of Israel before revealing darker intentions.

On this account some are speculating that Donald Trump, or perhaps his son-in-law Jared Kushner will morph into that global dictator.

On the plus side, this general direction aligns with apocalyptic texts that describe deception, global control, and persecution. However, identifying the specific covenant and its timing is speculative, as is identifying any specific person as the antichrist. In any event, this view leaves out other prophecy and definitely does not reveal the next big thing in Bible prophecy after peace occurs.

3. The Rebuilding of the Third Temple

There can be no denying that a concerted effort is being made in Israel toward building a Temple, and that is significant. One scenario sees peace as the gateway to rebuilding the Jewish temple in Jerusalem, a move that would electrify prophetic expectations. Based on Daniel 11 and Revelation 11, many believe the temple must be rebuilt for the “abomination of desolation” to occur.

This scenario is grounded in tangible prophecy and historical precedent. Timing though, is an issue. There is no statement in Scripture stating that a time of peace brings on the building of a temple. Also, this scenario does not tell us what the next major prophetic fulfillment is, following peace in the Middle East.

Peace in the Middle EastThen What?

4. Peace Triggering the Rapture of the Church

This view, among pre-tribulation believers, sees peace in the Middle East as a trigger for a pre-Tribulation Rapture – believed to be the sudden removal of the Church before the Tribulation begins. Verses like Revelation 3:10 (“I will keep you from the hour of trial”) and Luke 21:36 are often cited.

The problem with these verses is that neither of them, in context, mention nor suggest a pre-trib rapture. They, and others like them are used out of context as proof texts for a theory that is never stated in the Bible.

There will be what could be called a “rapture” (rapture is not a word in the Bible), but the Bible is very specific about when that will happen. Here is what it says:

Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality.
1 Corinthians 15:51-53

The "rapture" will occur at the “last trumpet.” When is that? Revelation 8 reveals 7 trumpets that are blown through the course of the Great Tribulation, with the "last trumpet" at the end of the Tribulation announcing the return of Messiah.

Matthew specifically agrees, saying Messiah returns “immediately after the tribulation” and then it predicts a “great trumpet sound” at that time, which has to be the “last trump.” I know a lot of sincere Christians have been taught this pre-tribulation rapture doctrine. Sorry, it’s just wrong on so many levels. (1Co 15:52, Rev 8, Matt 24:29-31)

5. The Gog and Magog Invasion

This scenario draws from Ezekiel 38–39, where a coalition led by Gog of Magog attacks a peaceful, unsuspecting Israel. Many believe that peace in the region - especially if Israel is “dwelling securely”—sets the stage for this prophetic war. The text explicitly describes Israel living in safety before the invasion, making peace a plausible precursor.

While I know that the Gog of Magog War is not the next major prophetic event, I agree that peace in the Middle East will eventually bring on that war. In fact, I have produced hours of information on this very topic, much of it original revelation never before revealed. It is amazing how the alliances specifically named in the prophecy are now lining up together, as if in preparation for this very event.

So, After Peace, What is the Next Big Prophetic Event?

Having said that, none of the scenarios above reveal the next major prophetic event (I say “major” meaning significant beyond the many signs of the last days that are unfolding every day). The closest to being correct is the Gog of Magog War. Strangely though, even this one fails to see the prophecy that directly precedes the Gog attack.

Ezekiel 38–39 predicts the Gog attack. However, Ezekiel 37, just before the Gog attack in the prophecy of Ezekiel, predicts one of the most amazing prophetic events in Scripture. It is the return of the remnant of all of the tribes of Israel to the Land, not just the Jews, to become one nation in the Land.

Realize the State of Israel is proclaimed a “Jewish” nation. “Jewish” refers to the tribe of Judah. Ezekiel 37 foretells that all of the other tribes will be gathered and return to the Land, so that all Israel will be in the Land before the attack of Gog, which occurs in the very next chapter after the remnant return.

It is this return of the Remnant of Israel that is the next major prophetic event after peace in the Middle East. Things are happening fast, so all of this will be unfolding over the next few years. These events will not only effect Israel - This will effect everyone.

For You!

I will be sharing a lot more about this upcoming event in tonight's live stream. This will be our last episode in our Prophets, Kings, and King of Kings Month 7 seminar. This last episode is entitled: Restoration Nation. Besides considering the real history in context, we will present the hope set out by all of the prophets for Yah's people in the latter days.

You may be surprised at just how much support there is in Scripture for this major prophecy - that nearly everyone seems to miss. Did I mention that this will be brought to you by Dad and the Dudes? I'm the Dad and the Dudes are my three sons who work with me in this ministry. I'm sure you will enjoy getting to know these young men a little better. That's all going to be streamed tonight at 8 PM Central at https://tsiyon.net/ and other video platforms. Join us to enjoy this Grande Finale tonight!
