Hello everyone! I’m sitting down with a cup of coffee on this crisp January morning in 2026, taking a look at what’s ahead for the State of Israel – and for us. For those who've been with me from the beginning, you know I've been pounding the drum about Israel's coming time of peace and prosperity - straight out of the prophecies we've studied together in Scripture. I've been doing that because the prophetic picture presents the remnant of the tribes of Israel returning to the Land in a period of peace and prosperity for Israel.

I've often said it: the Bible doesn't mince words about a season when Israel would rise from the ashes, secure its borders, and bask in economic blessings that make the nations take notice. Think Isaiah 60: "Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you... The wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you." What is the wealth of the Gentiles if not the remnant of Israel scattered throughout the nations returning home? A time of peace in the Land will make way for the Remnant Return.

I believe that dawn of peace is breaking right now. After years of turmoil - wars, threats, and headlines that could make your heart sink - 2025 brought a cascade of events that scream "prophetic fulfillment" to anyone with eyes to see. It's not all sunshine yet; we know the road to true shalom has its bumps. But the signs are piling up, pointing to a Middle East where Israel stands tall, prosperous, and at peace, just as the prophets foretold. Today, I'm going to walk you through a top 10 list of key factors and events from the past year or so that indicate this era is underway and will be fully established soon. I'll tie them back to Scripture where it fits, because that's what we do here - we watch the news through the lens of God's Word. Remember, these aren't just random happenings; they're pieces of a divine puzzle coming together.

1. The Fall of the Assad Regime in Syria: A Prophetic Door Opening

Oh, what a game-changer this was! Late in 2025, Bashar al-Assad's regime - long propped up by Iran and Russia - crumbled like a house of cards. A new Syria is emerging, one that's less hostile and more open to regional stability. For Israel, this means fewer threats from the north and potential new trade routes. Sources like the Atlantic Council are calling it a "new dawn" for the region - amen to that!

2. Israel's Decisive Victories in the Twelve-Day War

Remember the tension building up to that short but intense conflict with Iran and its proxies in 2025? Israel came out swinging, inflicting massive damage on Hezbollah and Iranian assets. Both sides claimed victory, but Israel's military edge was undeniable, weakening those who have long sought its destruction. This aligns perfectly with Zechariah 12:6, where Jerusalem becomes "a heavy stone" that crushes its attackers. Friends, this isn't just military might; it's YHWH fulfilling His promise to protect His people. As the International Crisis Group noted in their 2026 conflicts report, the power balance has shifted - toward peace for Israel.

On the prosperity front, Israel's energy sector is booming! Recent deals, like the expanded gas exports from the Leviathan field to Egypt, are turning the Mediterranean into a hub of cooperation. This isn't just about money; it's economic interdependence that discourages conflict. Think of Deuteronomy 8:7-10, where God promises Israel a land flowing with resources. Anadolu Agency's 2025 review calls this a "new geopolitics" of energy - prosperity that's drawing nations to Israel's table, just as prophesied.

 4. The Weakening of Iran's Regime: Internal Unrest and Military Setbacks

Speaking of Iran, the ayatollahs are on shaky ground. Protests erupted again in 2025, fueled by economic woes and military humiliations, including joint Israel - U.S. strikes that crippled their nuclear and missile programs. Now, in 2026 we're seeing the likely demise of this regime escalating quickly, which has been a thorn in Israel's side for decades. Realizing that Elam was another name for ancient Persia, Jeremiah 49:38-39 is of interest here:

“I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from there king and princes, says YHWH. But it shall happen in the latter days, that I will bring back the captivity of Elam, says YHWH.” Jeremiah 49:38-39

These verses are specifically about “the latter days” and indicate the fall of a Persian regime that would make the way for YHWH to “bring back the captivity of Elam” i.e. to bring the remnant of Israel back to the Land out of that place. We could be seeing the start of this passage now. In any event, a less aggressive Iran is a great thing for peace in the Middle East.
